Why is #drivernotcar preferred? Doesn’t it spotlight individual responsibility over systems that need fixing? In an analogous situation the gun lobby says ‘people kill people’ to minimise the role of the gun. Why minimise the role of the car?
I’ve never understood this. Isn’t this akin to pro gun activists saying ‘guns don’t kill people?’. The systemic issue is the car, focusing on the individual downplays the importance of systemic change.
Even with all our modern technology it’s amazing to think that society could never build this today.
