literally all i do is clamp the position to a maximum distance and then lerp the camera to a desired distance while rotating the camera to look at the player and somehow it just.. works. will get back to yall if there are big issues with this method...
game netcode is pain!!!111!!!!1!!! but fun
meanwhile i figured out an extremely basic follow camera for 3d platformers that doesnt require a pivot camera (ignore the missing face, bad shaders sonic model)

started modeling and prototyping the second iteration of my first level, very wip. also added the homing attack but its a bit more dynamic in ways that im not showing yet :3

FINALLY conquered my camera system issues, and all it took was giving up and installing the (really cool) phantom cam addon xd
although most of my code is the same so far, the camera switching priority system is going to save me a lotta stress :D

thx :) havent tried but probably not as the method of movement is programmed more similar to something like the adventure games or frontiers, and not the more heavy "force" based slippery unleashed/gens movement. the way i calculate the player velocity is very airtight so speed exploits are unlikely
