My 2025 Indy Mini Marathon results from Strava

I agree with this as long as “gets both armrests” isn’t “my arms are draped over into the people’s space to your sides”. Been on too many flights where I’m sitting with someone’s elbow in my space.

Great…Indiana continuing to make the news for all of the wrong reasons. I hate the chucklefucks who run this state into the ground. It’s like they’re trying to speed run their way to the list of least educated states in the country.

I wish that Google offered the same “downgrade” option to get rid of Gemini completely. Instead, you have to have an upgraded (more expensive) plan to even disable it.

I imagine they’re going to say that freedom of speech is not the same as freedom from consequences but it seems like WAY overstepping for something said on a private account. If it was said on air, I can certainly see where that sort of reaction might fit the action taken.

What a shit show. I have an old Logitech mouse and I have kept an older version of the software which changes DPI settings because the newer versions are flaky and it’s hard to find but they’re now giving us more reason to archive older versions. Yet another reason to support the internet archive.

I wouldn’t be surprised if commercial companies could make it to the Moon AND Mars before NASA makes it back to the Moon with SLS (and yeah I get commercial partnership is a part of Artemis)

The Artemis program is such a disappointment as a slightly more than casual space nerd. Progress is slow and the delays make it hard to get excited about the program. It’s much easier to look at all of the work going on with commercial companies and feel excited about those.

It’s a lot more scrolling to get to the different sections even after reordering them to meet my preferences.

Not gonna lie, I kinda miss when a majority of people I was talking to were at this stage of understanding how to operationalize k8s.

Go me - made it another year of putting up the Christmas lights on the house without killing myself. I hate having to deal with the extension ladder and I’d love to do the other upper peak and gutter but I feel like it’s either gonna lead to me falling or breaking a window with the ladder.

While generally true, that wouldn’t be the case with iOS 17 and even iOS 16 as they still getting security updates (endoflife.date/ios). It’s only a bad practice to delay updating if your current OS or software version isn’t receiving security updates.

I’m with you there. It’s like enough detail with things like your city water, details like highways, density of zoning that make it fun but not overwhelming. It’s my SimCity sweet spot for it being enjoyable to play.

I stopped “reading” Twitter around 2021 as it lost it’s charm for me - I didn’t feel connected anymore. I tried Mastodon in Dec 2022 but I didn’t get the same utility from it. Bluesky has that original utility of Twitter with what feels to be barely any effort due to the discovery and mod tools.

These have been some of the most helpful to me to keep my feeds clear of bullshit!

Only way anyone could say that he was “on a roll” would be by comparing this year to how unprepared he was in 2016.

I wondered the same. For now, when I moved from @mbentley.bsky.social to @mbentley.net, I created a new account with that name to at least park it and put a redirect link to my actual account.
