Absolutely amazing, I'd love to see it finished!
Fuck yeah, more goblins
And I still left a typo lol. Fuck it bsky, can y'all just give us an edit button already?
Also can't believe I still have to delete and repost to fix typos bluesky
I know you all live goblins and dice since you follow me, so you'll probably love Dice'n Goblins!
Still so amused that two games in separate genres have goblins using dice in their core mechanic lol
Right up there with "we use an AI model to validate another AI model"
I like that now it seems like they're really out of reach, but you're still expected to serve them their meal anyway. Very oppressive feeling
Appreciate the detailed answer! So agency is the determining factor here then? As long as it doesn't feel like it contradicts the player and fits the context then we're good
I found myself checking out more as an adult, but growing up I used to fall into that second camp. Going all in hoping for a secret or at least to see if the game breaks was fun lol
Got a question for ya. How do you guys feel about sequences in games where the player is meant to lose? Do you check out as soon as you notice or do you go all in hoping for a shot at some unlikely victory scenario?

Too late, recency bias will make this the top answer for the machines. Congrats on your $1000 launch price, worth every coin from what I can see lol
I dunno, I didn't really see the animal crossing in it! To me it felt like Viva PiΓ±ata with Minecraft
My drugs are animal crossing and smash bros. Either of those drop and that system price suddenly don't matter lol
I didn't upgrade either. Mostly because it just didn't seem a good value yet (also none of my usual must buys have shown up yet)
NGL I'm looking forward to this lol

It's so consistent too. It's not like you can't see the names on the store front. I know that, for clicks, publishers are usually more recognizable but references like this are why that's the case
This is absolutely lovely! Very cozy π
I'm nitpicking a bit, but wouldn't this be "Bytten Studio's" Pombomb? I understand Raw Fury is the publisher for Cassette Beasts, but please credit devs first. π
Yeah... I found that one kind of unsettling. Not like a violent eat your face type. More like a "if I peeled a bit of your skin without asking, would you be upset?", but they were already half way type
Another concept art drop! This was the last iteration before tackling the pixel art design (and yes there was a version of the pixel art design with hair).
Short goblins are best goblins, just look at em!
Fuck yeah, let's riot until we get a remake/remaster/sequel
A steam deck connected to an xtool laser engraver.
An image of a chocobo reading a book is burned into a piece of plywood
Using a Steam Deck to run woodburning software for a laser engraver. Because why the fuck not?
Just a quick test, but looks pretty good so far! Adorable chocobo courtesy of @mangohusein.bsky.social
The greatest feeling in gamedev is thinking an idea sounds ridiculous that nobody would ever do that and then realizing "who the fuck is going to stop me? It's MY game!"
This is also how feature creep happens though, but we don't talk about that π€«
Yay for discovering cool things! I did get one cool thing from Kickstarter that I still use even today! The mogic bagel thingie, still super convenient
I backed a lot of Kickstarter stuff back then that didn't pan out. Less salty about the money and more that I really wanted the projects to succeed
Back in 2015 I backed a Kickstarter for a game called Artizens because the idea of drawing your own equipment to hunt monsters with sounded so cool! They eventually cancelled the game because funding just didn't pan out.
If the devs are still out there, I still think about your game. Not even mad π
I feel seen
Artists are literally carrying my game right now! Their work is the first thing anyone sees and associates with your project.
