I'm not very active on any public social media lately, tbh. I think the model is flawed.

I don't care for the heat that comes from more specific criticism, they never wanted to hear it. I hear they're pivoting away from social media anyway.

For instance, she was recently mentioned in this great talk by @dustyweb.bsky.social crediting her for co-defining a philosophy of agency-maximizing, which I think is a marked improvement over utility-maxing, if one's trying to pick a metric to ethics-max.

Oh I'd sure love if I could write posts that targeted tagged portions of my followers. Twitter got so weird for me. Early on it was close friends and comedy nerds, and eventually those friends were drowned out with tech people. I wish I could have segmented them.

Or maybe that knowledge would just cause more people to pander and corrupt their natural expressions to their perceived audience's interests.

There's a balance between some tasteful "reading the room", vs when pandering goes evil/manipulative.
