I don't know what's wrong with journalists who are ignoring the climate crisis. But I do know something's wrong with them.

Oil isn't a normal product, and treating it like it is in an article like this is journalistic malpractice.
Publishing a long ass article about the oil industry without mentioning the damage it's causing the planet is a choice.
It's like writing an article about asbestos and not bothering to mention it causes cancer.
Behold: the first-ever list of news outlets that have banned generative AI in their reporting. As of today, this is literally information that you cannot find on Google.
My goal is to fill the starter pack, so please send over suggestions with supporting evidence!

Well isn't that convenient. Buddy, you just lost my vote.
Ew. You've tasted asparagus?
Getting really flustered during battle because my sword makes a flirty little "ooh!" sound instead of a "clang" every time it hits another sword.
This from 2024 is essential reporting about AI, target generation, and tempo, deadly deadly deadly tempo.

We turned away from the light when we invented a way to go online without the computer screaming in warning.
I think one of the most staggering industry shifts in my 16 years as a tech reporter is that itβs not become a question of βshould our product help the government kill and/or surveil people?β but βto what extent?β

the survivors who chose to follow me into the wilderness after watching me wordlessly rub two sticks together to start a fire are growing dismayed as it starts to become clear I just love rubbing stuff
I cannot stress enough how short and direct the connection is between abandoning values in favour of making deals with authoritarian regimes with awful human rights records, and now facing potential participation in an illegal and immoral war alongside Trump. This is where rationalizations get you.

about cities, choices, and the future
They should make a TV show that's just more of Better Call Saul. Only it's not more seasons of Better Call Saul because the story was the correct length, and it's not rewatching Better Call Saul because it's new content, and it's not a spinoff, but it's still somehow more of Better Call Saul. Yknow?
Think of myself as a rational human being until I am presented with a tiny version of a regular-sized object. Is that a little jar of Marmite? No. That is a baby. That is little baby Marmito and I love him with my life.
OpenAI is doing the bare minimum they've calculated they need to do in order to keep the Canadian government from actually regulating them. And Canadian politicians are going along with the charade because they don't want to regulate AI, but they have to pretend they do because the public wants it.
It's not an apology if someone refuses to voluntarily change the behaviour they're apologizing for, it's PR and damage control.
BRAND NEW: β15-minute cities are open air prisons. Thereβs a war on cars. Homelessness has nothing to do with housing. Wider, faster roads and highways are an improvement.
When it comes to cities, weβre inundated with lies like these.β

Glad people are settling on the term "pervert glasses". Bonus points if you also say it while posting a picture of Mark Zuckerberg or call them Mark Zuckerberg's pervert glasses.
This is the single bitchiest trailer ever made

I was wrong, it's based on an Atwood book too. So just the same level of eyerolling as the first series.
Except this book was written by Atwood after she published this little gem comparing a male UBC professor being accused of sexual misconduct to a witch trial and said hey, women are liars, too!
