Interesting analysis of why Bluesky is better by design, not just because the people on it are necessarily nicer

I flew Air New Zealand from LHR to both HKG and LAX back in the early 2000s. They had lovely crew and a premium economy product that was better than BA or Virgin. Always thought they would regret selling their LHR slots. Would be great to see them back in London.

The rush to BlueSky continues: @theguardian.com has arrived in the last 24 hours
Incidentally, having the second most common name in the UK has other disadvantages, including being redirected to the βseek assistanceβ desk every time I arrive at the UK border because someone else with the same name as me appears to have done something naughty.
I was too late to nab it here, so it was good that I knew how to add a TXT record to DNS, and could use my davidjones.org domain.
Thanks to James encouraging me (and lots of my then Virgin Radio colleagues) onto the other place very early in the day, for an experiment heβd cooked up to keep us all in touch while we were in Dublin for a weekend away, I actually nabbed davidjones over there.
@james.crid.land with a fun blog post about using your domain name as your nickname on BlueSky. And using me as an example.
There has been a big influx of UK journalists and politicians in the last week (I wonder what could have triggered that π), so it feels like @bsky.app may be increasing its traction in that space at least.
At the end of the interview I said that Twitter was the app I tended to start my day with... with the influx of new people to @bsky.app, I wonder if that might change π
Had a great coversation with @seancallanan.bsky.social a few weeks ago, and he has very kindly published me as his 400th podcast. Congratulations, Sean, on reaching such a cool milestone!
It was lovely to chat to Sean about how we deploy technology at AEG to enhance the fan experience.
