finally tried out faircamp, essentially a self hosted bandcamp, with fewer features. i like it so far and think i'll commit to using it to serve streams/downloads for now. it's in alpha tho so would only recommend if you're already running your own website and not afraid of basic command line stuff

things it's missing for me
- real payment integration. it's just "soft" payment rn which is basically a checkbox asking if you paid after being prompted to pay via paypal, for example
- lyrics (a la bandcamp)
- deeper management of extra content (e.g. stems, images, video etc)
