Today is World Braille Day, marking Louis Braille's birthday. At 15, he created a system that gives millions of blind people independence. Check out LEGO Braille Bricks for a fun way to learn braille at any age. braillebricks.com #WorldBrailleDay #Accessibility
BTW the keyboard flex on the Starlight version is ridiculous, to the point that I’m surprised they shipped it. It’s because of the transparent PCB apparently. I’ll have to try one of the 3D printed fixes.
Large box with a Commodore logo
Today I will be trying to recapture my youth by waiting for games to load on my new Commodore 64.
I’ve already loaded the 2026 reading list into the calendar 👍
The National Design Studio's website has a form appealing for "Extraordinary Talent", in which none of the labels are paired with the fields.
Just me? "We've got a load of unrelated local changes. Batch them into logical commits and push."
Their fault for making the pot too big. False affordance.
I’m starting with annual theme events that repeat on the same date each year, or on a pattern that Claude can calculate.
I’m updating events for 2026 on Eventua11y and experimenting with having Claude create them using the Sanity MCP server. I am of course checking them, but if there’s temporary weirdness, that’s why!
Me: "I bet ChatGPT has come up with some great deep research insights for my question about accessibility in design systems."
ChatGPT: "I’m thinking through a funeral director's wine blog and personal site..."

Screenshot from the McDonalds app displaying a message that says “this location is closed until open 24 hours. Please select an open location to pick up your order.”
Came for a burger, ended up with a logical paradox. This McDonalds location is closed until it’s open, which is 24 hours a day.

This #GAAD and every GAAD, you can champion #accessibility by hiring accessibility specialists, paying them well, ensuring they have what they need to be successful and make a change, and by not putting their heads on the chopping block first whenever layoffs roll around.

OK I want to know more about BT's web infrastructure. I've created an account and now they're like "please allow at least 10 minutes from the time you receive your activation email before completing this step". Is someone literally scribing my details onto a parchment scroll or something?
If I can inspire one person, I call that a win. The conversations you have with coworkers today can influence how they think about accessibility years later, when they've moved onto new gigs. It might not feel like you're making a difference in your current org but there's a longer game at play.
Come check out our talk today at #Config2025!

I can’t tell what’s real and what’s AI these days.
“Where’s Mummy?”
“Gone to the shop.”
“Why not?”
“Why not what?”

Just updated our guide to using Signal. If you aren't already on Signal, this will get you up to speed. Also, you should be using Signal—there's no time like this very second! www.wired.com/story/signal...
I’m flying at 40,000ft and my dishwasher has just messaged to say it has finished its load. What a time to be alive.
Jet lag compels me to eat crisps and Skittles for dinner.
Landed in San Francisco. Walking around on the rug, making fists with my toes.
Don’t talk to me about Agent Experience until you’ve fixed User Experience.
The optimist in me wants to trust that there are grown-ups watching from the next room. I just wish they’d stop chatting and do something.
