Just realized I have a little informal series going of photos taken standing next to ice cream places in metro Detroit. This one is right by MJ's Ice Cream Parlor in the North End

1990 Upper Deck #297 Mickey Tettleton baseball card. Tettleton follows though on a swing, looking high in the air as he just crushed a ball. He wears a white Orioles uniform, with a long-sleeved black shirt underneath.
I love Mickey Tettleton!
During his career, he was derided for a low batting average and tons of strikeouts.
Now, we know better. He racked up the walks, rarely grounded into double plays, and finished with a career 122 OPS+.
Massively productively player.

The bike lane on Livernois, but it’s full of leaves.
Ferndale allows their residents dump leaves in the bike lane like this for pickup, and this happens for like six weeks? Pretty stupid system IMO.
That’s mainly because there’s a big pocket in the middle of the city where roads aren’t super driven on + some separated bike lines sprinkled throughout the city. Still lots of parts of Detroit I would never consider biking to bc scary though :(
The incident I experienced today was while I was driving. Detroit’s bike infrastructure could use improvement for sure, but I am able to get from my house on the north side of town to downtown (about 8 miles) on a e-bike without feeling like I’m going to die
