She is baaack!!

I hope she can say one day she fully recovered, but this was great to watch and see that she is finally at the point where she can record a video again π

Re-learning chemistry is soooo much NOT fun π. I prefer algebra so much more.
I'm just thinking I'll have to do this for at least a couple more years lol
What IS fun is watching the lights turning on in the brains of my kids and they go π±π€―

Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed.
Open source and free as in free beer vs closed source and projects that cost money.
This video explains really well both sides of the coin.

top secret fam. DO NOT SHARE EXTERNALLY.
the little window that opens up from the Electrobun Kitchen Sink *does not contain a webview*.
- no dom
- no cssom
- just a native window
- with direct access to webgpu/metal
- three.js api layered on top
- directly in bun typescript
This is a pretty cool website to look at "live" @vscode.dev themes
Shamelessly plugging my own, of course:
vscodethemes.com/e/ackzell.tl...
My first @vscode.dev theme is also available in the Open VSX Registry now.
Surprisingly it has more downloads than the Marketplace π

You either die a hero, or you live long enough to create and publish your own @vscode.dev theme

I was able to include a modified version of an Expressive Code plugin that supports the #Vue compiler to show things like the types of the variables the code, as well as errors.
In this particular lesson to indicate that only JS statements and not expressions are allowed for text interpolation.

Aaand another update.
This is what I have in mind for a live environment to hold Vue workshops:

Recorded a video walkthrough of the yehyecoa-vue playground I am building. This will be used in the platform itself to explain how it works.

I am working on something... #vuejs related, of course

I had so much fun styling one of the apps for my side project that I was ultimately reminded that I'm definitely more happy when doing frontend stuff.
It's been long since I had so many different things going on at once (technically) and I feel how my brain is just gooooing. Such a great feeling π
I closed the week by contributing a feature to an OSS project I started using, but that was not before learning how to create a pnpm patch on my own repo where I have it as a dependency.
Adding a bunch of issues to my own repos so I don't forget what I want to add to them.
Shadcn-vue + UnoCSS is pretty cool. I was able to move real fast.
Only problem is I didn't quite like the colors, then the spacing in my layout... Then dark vs light mode... And I spent a lot of time in there haha. Thankfully we have Vite these days
That's just the day job!
I'm working on a side project where I'm using Dexie in the Vue ecosystem (meaning Pinia, Iconify, UnoCSS, Vue use...)
Implementing the integration took me a little while because I couldn't get the abstractions to _feel_ right... Until I did. That was a great moment!
... so I could get rid of an API call and get the results rendering the data more quickly.
Next I'm roubleshooting EC2 instances and bringing back to life the environment for dev
I rewrote a docker file, updated the ci, registered a CI runner, made nginx and the container resilient to reboots
This week was pretty wild in terms of my professional life.
But I'll highlight here the technical aspect of it:
At one point I was writing code to listen to Cognito events in my Amplify React component for auth.
Then I needed to modify a Java lambda to provide a field in the response...
I'm absolutely right!
π¦
I'm pretty sure we are all asking why it wasn't void(0) π
I'm on a 500 day leaning streak! In Duolingo
I have mixed feelings about this.
Gotta try it some more to make up my mind about it.
Different DX from what I'm used to for sure.
