I share this because grad student said this was his encounter with using ChatGPT for help. He bowed to pressure from on high to "go on, just give it a try" to see if it saved any time.
The results were spectacularly bad. The only positive remark from student was "Well, it failed quickly I guess."
A grad student has been learning a lot of German in hopes of writing manuals in English for other students. This has caused them to learn:
1) Translating technical German is hard.
2) Just because it is technical German doesn't mean it is a good and useful manual in the first place.
Eh, sounds somewhat like the current hosting or cloud computing paradigm, tbh.
