UK arts must not be sacrificed for speculative AI gains, peers say Ministers urged to abandon plans to let tech firms use work of novelists, artists and writers without permission

'Barbara Keeley, a Labour peer, said the UK’s creative industries faced a “clear and present danger” from AI firms using their work without credit or payment.'

Spurs fans really thought they were more than the Kane and Son team. The epitome of Notions.

Have to give it to Tottenham. With their North London neighbours single handedly ruining football, Spurs are playing a brand of football that is really entertaining everyone.

There wouldn’t even be a player worth taking off spurs if they went down.

What’s going to happen to the toilet bowl when spurs go down? Will Beyoncé still want to perform in a championship team’s stadium??

"I think they (Arsenal) will be the most controversial champions of the Premier League era" says Martin Samuel, chief football reporter of the Times, who is often found writing about how amazing Man City are as a club.

Arsenal may have the lead, but they certainly don't have any control. Brighton are pressing very well from the front and Arsenal are struggling to get out. The ball just keeps coming back.

Arsenal need more goals to Kavanagh-proof themselves.

Also to Arsenal-proof themselves.

Teams are now always low/mid block against superior opponents, or out of possession, and they are getting bloody good at it. This is why flowing, expansive football is dead.

Set-pieces are a solution to the puzzle of how to beat this tactic. Arsenal trying their best to win isn't a crime.

Focusing on the Hurzeler comments, he is trying to influence the match officials prior to the game by calling out time wasting so they potentially focus on it (and more specifically Arsenal) during tonight’s game…

I think the Premier League has a style problem, and to an extent a set-piece problem.

I think the latter needs addressing through law changes - or changes in application of the law.

I don't take offence to managers/pundits discussing that.

Arsenal aren't trying to be loved, they're trying to win.

This IPSO adjudication against the Telegraph is quite something

Confirms their story titled: ‘We earn £345k, but soaring private school fees mean we can’t go on five holidays’ was completely fabricated, with the family involved non-existent and stock pictures used

tbh I don't even see the point of engaging the setpiece cheats narrative anymore. it's very obviously not cheating, nor is it a strategy chosen in a vacuum. and either way, the club are fine without it.

just call it what it is at this point: cope

Plunging Google Discover traffic hits Reach digital revenue Major cost cuts at Reach helped keep profits up in 2025 despite falling revenue across both digital and print.

Interesting to see Reach's financial results are out. Having been hit hard by AI summaries in Google they fled to Google Discover, which is now hitting them hard. Digital revenue down and still basically reliant on print. pressgazette.co.uk/media_busine...

Funny how when a narrative really takes off there's no stopping it no matter how far from the truth it is.

Arsenal are excellent at corners and relied on them a lot at the start of the season, no doubt, but that hasn't really been the case for months now.
