That couple from that travel blog you read once while searching for info about Japan probably. Or maybe Disney. Skeets by Simon, but if it’s actually useful I cribbed it from Erin. https://www.neverendingvoyage.com

A huge chunk of clear blue ice sits on pebble beach surrounded by other chunks of ice with a channel of water leading out to the sea behind it.
Wandering through the frozen boulders of Diamond Beach, Iceland with the North Atlantic stretching into the distance behind them was captivating. It's the kind of epic, bleak beauty that Iceland specialises in and, despite it being very popular, is well worth a visit.
Also, we saw a seal!
Here’s a link to the MOMA YouTube channel that has it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ud1...
Watch for all the horse and buggies and the Victorian outfits!
OK so this is a valid reskeet from my other account as it is actually travel related.
This steampunk contraption is STILL RUNNING in Germany and now I badly want to go and ride it!
It’s worth watching the film cause thanks to the 68mm stock the clarity is insane.
A blue sky over a roaring waterfall with a rainbow I mean, c'mon Iceland, now you're just showing off.
This here is Skógafoss. It is one of the more popular waterfalls in the southwest but it's not hard to see why.

The latest from my History of Cinema project is the Countryman and the Cinematograph, which I found to be strangely resonant in our AI-filled times:

Whoa! Handfuls of polychrome magicians?
I have recently restarted my movie blog, where I am watching a huge list of films from the birth of cinema to the present day and doing a li'l sketch to go along with them.
My latest is an early timelapse film called Demolishing and Bulidng up the Star Theatre:
A photo of Erin and I at Gluggafoss in Iceland. It's a thin waterfall that disappears into the rocks and then bounces out again. We are standing over to the right with our arms out in celebration of such a magical sight (and also that we have it entirely to ourselves).
We are back from our trip to Iceland, in which many waterfalls were visited!
Iceland has such a glorious landscape that you can skip the Must Sees and get places like Gluggafoss here to yourself.
Personally, I much prefer the less spectacular but quieter (but actually still quite spectacular) ones
bane voice: you merely adopted "coping with rejection sensitivity", I was born in it
Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams
Can’t stop talking about this @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social piece about the ways the tech industry has tricked us all into trading connection for convenience and how to break free of it. www.theguardian.com/news/ng-inte...
A photo of Erin and I standing in front of a snowy castle at Disneyland Paris
We’re back from a couple of days at Disneyland Paris where not only was it the last couple of days of Christmas, but it snowed! ⛄️
Walking around the park was super fun, as was getting blasted in the face by it while riding Big Thunder Mountain!
A Christmas tree with a whole heap of presents underneath together with a plushy of li’l Ringring from Tokyo Disneyland for extra cosy vibes
I still have one slightly delayed present left to arrive but just finished the rest of it and now I am ready to hunker down for the holidays!
A photo of the town of Molveno shot from across the lake. It's early morning and the sun has just risen above the hill, lighting the tops of the moutains in a warm glow that contrasts with the cool turquoise of the lake.
Hello Voyagers we are back from Lake Molveno in the Italian Alps!
I am currently working through the 450 video clips we shot to see if I said anything coherent in there and Erin is working on a new post, but in the meantime here's an unreal sunrise she captured on her way to a morning paddleboard:
Nice! Yeah, it’s a cool little town!
🚨New Post: Camogli, The most magical seaside town in Italy 🇮🇹
Our new favourite spot on the Italian coast. Laid back and charming, but close to Portofino, Cinque Terre, and the Italian Riviera. We loved it so much we extended our stay!

Continuing our deep dive into our new favourite Italian town, we have a review Hotel Cenobio deli Dogi. It is a little pricey, but with private beaches, a heated pool, and an excellent restaurant, perhaps a little indulgence is in order?

We were fortunate enough to be in Camogli for the annual Sagra del Pesce (fish festival), in which giant, extravagant bonfires are constructed, tons of fish are fried in a massive frying pan, the clock tower is decorated, and there's a huge fireworks display!

Substack has its own traffic, so just in terms of diversification maybe it’s worth accepting the limitations?
(That’s a question more for me than you at this point—you’ve got me rethinking our approach again!)
Yeah, segmentation is something else that’s missing. It’s closer to blogging with a paywall and RSS to email than a true list management platform.
Autoresponders have been a great list builder for us, but otoh that will go down as Google shifts to AI and we lose traffic.
Also Substack has discovery features built in, which is a way to further build your list.
And it’s free.
If it added autoresponders or workflows, I think I’d switch.
We switched to Flodesk from Mailchimp as we have an autoresponder series that we want to keep.
If you want to do any sort of automated email workflows, Substack doesn’t work unfortunately.
For paid newsletters, though, not sure it can be beat at this point. We’re still considering it for that.
The only dowinse is they're a little bulky to wear as is, so I've ordered the lavalier extensions for them as well.
Support 32 bit float too, which should help resolve clipping issues when Erin screams at me for getting the name of a place wrong for the 19th take in a row.
New gear day! We are beginning the long, slow pivot to video and as part of that I have been doing a lot of shopping.
Picked up the DJI Wireless Mic 2 and they sound fabulous, completely killed the echo in our rather echoey house.
🚨New Post! We hiked from Corniglia to Manarola in Cinque Terre. This is a great way to enjoy the area without spending too much time in the extremely busy towns, just get started early!

Voyagers! We returned from Skiathos Island in Greece less than a week ago and we already have a new post about it!
I know! It's unprecedented!

From the top of the stairs in the main foyer of the Disneyland Hotel, looking down into a lavish lobby.
On our most recent trip to Disneyland Paris we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, right at the park entrance. The location is dynamite but so is the price* which raises the question: Is it worth it?
We wrote a post that answers that very question: buff.ly/HdMvztt
*in that it'll blow your budget
I am excited to get back to Kyoto! Here's our list of cool things to do there: buff.ly/YUAdYgq
Also, it's where Nintendo is based so maybe I can go ask them personally for a Switch 2? 🤔
(Yes, I got a preorder invite. No, I didn't take them up on it. Yes, I regret that now.)
