I'm back to my series of Building Illustrations! I had to do the Athens Armory where I've been working out of lately. This design is one of my favorites!

The space is incredible, with all the modern, fancy amenities you could ask for (including an espresso machine!). And having a dedicated place to go to to do work has been huge in helping manage the workload that comes along with running a business. No more working from the couch for us!
This month has come with a big change for us. At the start of November, BlueDot Coworking opened up at the Athens Armory! We made our reservation to use the space almost immediately after our initial tour, and it has already been a worthwhile investment.
So now I'm back and I know whatβs different. My online experience is mine to shape, and mine alone. Iβll be here where it serves me and I will be absent where it doesnβt. Hopefully thereβs more of me here than there isnβt. I have lots of things to share, and Iβm excited for you all to see them
Iβve decided I can have both. I donβt need to let the algorithms and incentives of these platforms control me like they used to. AND I can still get what positivity I want to out of them. Both are possible and I refuse not to believe that
But now I return. Iβm almost 26 and Iβve found myself running a moderately successful freelance business. I consider myself a digital native. And my time spent offline has been accompanied by a feeling that some part of what I had in the early days of my online experience has been missing
Itβs been a minute since Iβve posted on social media. It hasnβt been a part of my daily life for a while. Hell, I still have never really been on TikTok. Iβm no stranger to it though. I grew up in these digital spaces, and eventually developed an unhealthy relationship with it. Eventually I stopped
Wow it's been a minute, huh? My first month of full-time freelancing has come and gone, and I think it went fairly well!
It's hard to find time to focus on things that don't directly pay the bills, but I'm finding a balance... Gonna try to get back to some sort of social media routine
Been playing around with paper craft stuff and itβs a lot of fun! Might post some of my stuff here soonβ¦
Canβt believe stickies got an update and this is all it is
One of my favorite buildings to draw was the Berry Hotel, a historical landmark here in Athens that is no longer standing. I came across an old postcard painting and based my drawing off that. This hotel was an important stop on the Underground Railroad.

This was one of the first prints I made on my new printer. I had the framed print on me when I first went into Buddy's. I had a great conversation with the budtender and spontaneously gave her that framed print, and she put in a good word with the owner.

A while ago I was working on a series of illustrations of buildings in my local area. I've always had an appreciation for the forms and shapes of architecture, and illustrating these buildings was a great exercise in observation.

I will try to avoid politics on this page, as itβs just not what itβs for, but wow what a day to start a new account yesterday, huh?
I got to do the product labels as well as the photography for these, and I'm really happy how it turned out. This was the first major project after we figured out the Buddy's branding identity, and getting to put it to use was really helpful in exploring what the brand looks like.
Let's start things off by looking at one of my favorite projects so far. One of my clientsβBuddy'sβis a weed company, and I got to work on their packaging and product photography. These were really fun, even if it was a bit of a squeeze getting things set up in my tiny apartment. #designsky
Hey there, #designsky! I'm Justin, and Brick Street Design is my little freelancing thing. I'm here to make connections with other designers and creatives. I hope you'll check out some of the work I plan on sharing here!
