fr tho thank you for this advice, ive personally never dealt with a landlord like this before so I kinda panicked and gave in, not wanting to cause issues for riley since hes the one who moved across the planet with little resources.

is there anyway it could backfire on us? I'm really unfamiliar with having to states any rights, let alone my rights while in another country.. I have already paid the $300 this time, but I do plan on visiting him more in the future since he's a cheap flight away, and will be using this information-
contacted some Tennants rights people about it, but he literally JUST moved in and we have more urgent matters that need to be focused on. as shitty as paying $300 is, I still did it because its still cheaper than a hotel here 🫠

This is bullshit because we had been saying i was going to be staying with him while he job hunts, as i have the vehicle and can drive him around to interviews and help him get settled in. There seems to have been a miscommunication on the length of my stay, hense her charging me now-
We arrive on the 27th at 10pm, and she requests we pay for two extra full days of rent because he moved in on the 27th.. but there's literally 2 hours left in the first day, so thats awesome.
Now, shes trying to make us pay an additional $300 ontop of the 3,070 we paid to let ME stay there :)
Insane fucking update on this;
We got him moved, thankfully my commissions have funded most of this. however something we DIDNT account for is how greedy his landlord is :')
