aws.amazon.com/ec2/faqs/#t4... - yes, T4g instances are free for the next year plus. You also get 30GB of EBS, and plenty of bandwidth out to the public internet for personal use (100GB). #AWS #ListenToTheHeroes
+1 here, at least it was polite enough to wait so I could my session on Thursday:)
For me, re:Invent only really starts when I check out the latest innovations and features in AWS networking and specifically Amazon VPC. Going to have to have a lie down after watching this. Here is the link for you to all geek out on networking goodness - www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qaS...
This is one of the BIGGEST changes to AWS networking in years! You can now share single resources over PrivateLink AND access these resources with Step Functions and EventBridge. Really powerful.
Collaborate with #AWS & @foundation.rust-lang.org.web.brid.gy to verify the safety of the Rust Standard Library. With the rise of tools and techniques that enable verification of safe and unsafe Rust code formal verification becomes possible. aws.amazon.com/blogs/openso...

Let's see what the latest re:Invent launches for Q Developer can do! I accepted this Corey Quinn challenge and put Q Developer Agent to work on a task he provided: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMvN...
Aurora DSQL's connection pools are fast π₯π₯π₯
In Lambda, getting a new token is single-digit milliseconds and making the TCP connection to the cluster (purple line) was only 11ms in this traced example:

We're always iterating and improving Q Developer Agent. Today we launched three new abilities:
* unit tests
* documentation
* code reviews
AND as of today, Q Dev Agent is #1 on SWE-Bench Verified benchmark, resolving a massive 54.8% of issues.
Agentic development truly transforms how we write code.
For a deep dive on Amazon Aurora DSQL go to @marcbrooker.bsky.social's sessions DAT424 and DAT427. In my keynote on Thursday, I'll dive under the hood to look at its architecture and the technology that makes global strong consistency possible. #AWSreinvent

I know @brian.dev was running one for a while. Looks like a good device, but think there are lots more options at a similar price. Was eyeing this one after watching the STH video on it:

Spatchcock turkey in a pan inside a charcoal grill.
Pan with 5 thick new york strip steaks, with truffle salt, garlic powder, and crushed black pepper, ready to he grilled.
Doing the πΊπΈπ¦ thing today, first time in a grill, hopefully not overcooking. What temps do people use? 425F the whole time, or 500F for first hour, the drop to ~400F? Just in case, I have a side dish.
This is a REALLY good quality-of-life improvement for Step Functions.
Instead of 6 ways to transform data, you now have JSONata with variables that you can read and write throughout the state machine.
