another addition to my #criticalrole hand portrait series - Halandil!
#critrole | #halandil | #ttrpg | #dndart
Yeah. It feels smarter to save the money for new product since I have a series that's been a bit evergreen. I suppose if I do get out of the red it'll be safer to do it with what I have instead of overspending.
It feels so stupid to be thinking about making money to pay bills when when everything is falling apart around us
Are people even going to go to a convention with everything going on in the world? I paid to be there, so I'll be there, but maybe I should just take what I have and hope I break even rather than debuting a dozen new prints and not being able to make that cost back.
I know this is not nearly the most important thing in the world right now. But I'm wondering what other convention artists are doing right now.
I have a con to prep for at the end of March, and I planned to spend many hundreds of dollars on new prints. Is there even a point? Is anyone buying?
An elderly woman with sharp features and green eyes looks forlornly into the distance. The background is minimal white with subtle baby blue smears.

The viewer sits at a rough wooden table, extending a blue-skinned hand that holds a cupcake. The viewer is in Jester Lavorreβs POV, Laura Baileyβs character from Critical Role campaign 2. On the other side of the table, a witch reaches gnarled hands towards the cupcake.

I can't grammar
So. I've started experimenting with acrylic goods and here soon I'm going to be sending off a hand portrait to be made into a standee. The MOQ isn't high. I can get just one if I want.
Would commissioners be interested in a standee of their hand portrait as an acrylic standee for a little extra $?
Against a blue ombre background, a light lavender hand with purple nails reaches up from the bottom of the illustration. Three light-blue ghostly critters swim behind the hand - a raven, a mouse, and a cat. Purple ribbons frame the portrait, and a darker purple ribbon serves as the foot of the portrait with "MAGGIE" written in white, fantasy lettering.

The place I work at is small (~20 employees), they treat us well and I wouldnβt expect them to replace people with machines directly. But I know theyβre still a business and if something happens to cut our money inflow, I doubt layoffs are out of the question
Iβm the lead artist and my responsibilities go beyond to the actual business operation, so Iβm not as worried about me. But I have two artists under me that I donβt want her to harm. if this is just to make our jobs easier great, but I donβt trust businesses adopting new automation not to do layoffs
Awful coworker (who is obsessed with non-generative AI and uses chatgpt for nearly everything) has now started pushing us to βautomateβ some of the things that we artists tend to have on our jobs list and i swear to god if she makes me redundantβ¦β¦β¦..
Like, this smell was so strong that I thought maybe a cat knocked over a bottle of cleaner or something because I have no perfume bottles in my house at all (and cats have no access to cleaners either)
I'm finally accepting that I get phantom smells
just experienced the weirdest cloud of old person perfume that I swear reminded me of something my (still living) mom used to wear. it was gone in 5 minutes but it was SO strong. might keep tabs on whether I get a migraine anytime soon
Thank you!!
