Cinna Peyghamy is a composer & sound artist born in France from Iranian parents. At the centre of his setup is the tombak, a traditional percussion instrument, blending the boundaries between acoustic & electronic, traditional & contemporary.
This tour will meet outside Wavelength’s old haunt Sneaky Dee's at College/Bathurst at 11:30am, and ends by 1:30pm at Trinity Common, where attendees can hang before the Melissa Auf der Maur memoir launch at the AGO (sold out!)
The Market has been a welcoming space for immigrants across diverse cultures and played a key role in Toronto’s musical history. Recently, it has been at the forefront of affordable housing & community ownership movements such as the Kensington Market Community Land Trust, who will co-host the tour.
Led by Wavelength co-founder/director and Any Night of the Week author @jdovercourt.bsky.social with special guests Orville (Kojo) Smith and others, this 90+ minute walking tour will guide visitors through the city’s unique and vibrant Kensington Market neighbourhood.
