As fsr as I know theybdont do S mode laptops anymore, but S mode can also be disabled permanently in the settings panel, thankfully.

You can usually get a 16 inch i7 with 16~32G of ram and a decent ssd from Dell on sale for about 600. This is *in the environs they live in now* and they will ask if there's anything cheaper.
