It wouldn’t work when I put it through a powered hub, not even like a desktop docking station type hub, only thing that worked was directly into the computer with the new cable.

People often choose between comfort and curiosity. If you're truly curious, you know you're going to be uncomfortable at some point because you're learning new things, but many people are so afraid of being uncomfortable, they prefer the illusion of comfort and the insulation it provides them.

This is also why, if you are teaching someone something, allowing room for discomfort is so key. I teach art workshops and some people are just SO afraid of the discomfort that comes with making art, like 'am I gluing this magazine scrap to the paper wrong?' 'Why don't you try it? See what happens'
I remember when they took the carpet out at SDCC and it was brutal, thank you for this timely reminder to get a fatigue mat cause I got a bunch of shows soon

Photo of a hand holding an original seascape oil painting by Tisha Mark, "Soft Peaceful Sunset No. 2601" 3"x3" oil on Arches oil paper (2026). A textured seascape painting with a light blue sky with orange sunset clouds over a dark blue sea with a rocky shore. Color from the sky reflects in the water below. A paint palette with puddles of oil paint, a paintbrush, and a palette knife are visible in the background.
Tiny and peaceful.
