It wouldn’t work when I put it through a powered hub, not even like a desktop docking station type hub, only thing that worked was directly into the computer with the new cable.

My apologies if you already tried this - but your computer does have USB C ports right, just not A ports? When I had this same issue, I ended up having to buy a brand new cable so I could plug the scanner directly into the computer with USB C and then the thing finally worked.

Hey #scicomm folks!

I am looking for a diverse crew to represent their fields with their head shot and a fun fact they like from their field of study, but SPECIFICALLY:

-a geologist/volcanist or gemologist
-a zoologist
-astronomer
-a paleontologist
-a structural engineer

People often choose between comfort and curiosity. If you're truly curious, you know you're going to be uncomfortable at some point because you're learning new things, but many people are so afraid of being uncomfortable, they prefer the illusion of comfort and the insulation it provides them.

This is also why, if you are teaching someone something, allowing room for discomfort is so key. I teach art workshops and some people are just SO afraid of the discomfort that comes with making art, like 'am I gluing this magazine scrap to the paper wrong?' 'Why don't you try it? See what happens'

I will remember who did this like two days from now, but I was at a con a few years ago and whoever it was, they had literally brought in inflatable furniture bc they had to provide their own chairs and I was like "ok that is genius- WAIT THEY DON'T GIVE YOU CHAIRS????"

I have never been to one and seeing the name and being from a very cold place, I thought, for years, that it was like... a winter clothing store? my brain was like "yeah, it's definitely winter clothes cause it's like... five below freezing"

I would love to sell out of my first print run before I start my next run of shows (and it helps pay for the second print run order I just made!) - there are just about 10 copies left.

I really loved making it and I think you'll feel inspired to make all sorts of things when you read it!
