Mar 2020 forced the whole world into remote work. This has created a persistent dialectic of remote versus in-office as the two ways to do group effort. The real battle is for async work, and patterns of remote work where we’re just simulating that we’re all in the same physical office is not success; effective async work requires a change in culture, and access to async work is a human rights issue.
