But this could change on February 25, when the European Commission decides whether to make abortion safe and accessible across the EU. This decision matters—and we must be in solidarity. Together, let’s show up for the right to abortion everywhere.
In Poland, people die in hospital beds because they're denied life-saving abortions. In Malta, people can go to prison for having an abortion, even in cases of rape. In other countries, legal abortion remains inaccessible. In Italy, for example, up to 70% of doctors refuse to perform abortions.
Safe abortion is a human right. Yet in Europe, 20 million people cannot access it.
Black feminist writers have always named how power works, who is harmed, and what liberation requires. Their work challenges systems built to exclude, erase, and divide, centering the voices that build and drive movements.
These books shape how we organize and build a more free and just world.
For Valentine’s Day, we’re choosing love by showing up for immigrant communities facing violence, detention, and dehumanization at the hands of ICE by calling our representatives and demanding an end to funding for ICE and detention centers.
