Itโs a complete roadblock to self-actualization and societal progress. When an alarming amount of adults are in a state of arrested development, it impedes our collective ability to rise against the class of people killing all of us.
I think the reason I rant so often about the pitfalls of fandom is that itโs accelerating the infantilization of countless adults. Itโs legit an epidemic that is not just some right wing phenomenon, itโs happening fucking everywhere.

Yeah I don't get this like. You can tell if a movie has cultural impact by whether people talk about it. And nobody talks about it except in these weird meta discussions. So it seems that the only cultural impact it had is in how notably it fails to leave an impression.

I've gone several months without talking about how #1000xRESIST is one of the best games I've ever encountered, which is a crime, but today I finally convinced one of my friends to try it. I told her how, at times, I wish I could simply say "Resonance." to people, when I have no better words.

Colour is a phenomenon of perception so I don't think anything really "has" a colour but rayleigh scattering doesn't really imply that air is blue, more that air MAKES blue. There's nothing specific reflecting blue light in air, it's a property of density

This concept is often hard for devs to grasp too, not just players. I put it as "the joy of doing" vs. "the joy of being".
Why does some grind or hard challenge feel joyful in game A, but a chore in game B? You enjoy *existing* in game A. The "thing to do" serves that joy.
