Bit surprised at how limited your options are for a lot of SaaS in Europe. Nothing to do with politics, just didnβt realize how many US tech startups just donβt have similar EU competitors

Yeah thatβs what Iβve been using too but itβs so sensitive and I end up running it on the same server I host my projects soβ¦
Oh thatβs neat!
What are your favorite uptime checkers and why? Just something that helps you feel like youβd be aware if your stuff goes down

Sharing this with a big recommendation. You'll have a hard time finding someone as knowledgeable as @hauleth.dev
Hi Bsky hivemind, is anyone looking for seasoned #ElixirLang developer? EMEA-based, fully remote.
Either consulting or full-time.
Our GitHub repository is now public!

Your inner perfectionist is why that 3-week project is now at month 3. Ship the embarrassingly simple version. Get real feedback. Iterate. Every day your code isn't in users' hands is a day you're not learning if you're building the right thing.

That's an interesting thought. Is the idea to encourage organization by showing the notes that have not been organized? Or how do you use it?
huh, that's odd, I thought I did implement that. I'll debug that and get back to you. Probably tomorrow!
Thank you for the feedback btw, so helpful β€οΈ
Ah, damn, I was trying to be clever but I assume you're logging in with Google OAuth, that won't work on the wildcard preview domain. I'll give it some polish and let you know when it's out!
Right, I put together a version here (you can log in with your prod account). I should probably rethink the design a bit here to make it nicer, but does that do roughly what you expect? 923a7984.darkdown-app.pages.dev
Ok, so like a split UI with the preview on the right? I used to have something like that, but I could bring back a nicer version
Really appreciate that β€οΈ It's a passion project but it'd be really cool if people can get real use out of it. All feedback and any ideas hugely welcome!
ah like a preview? You can click "copy link" to make a public link which shows a rendered version. But then it's public, obv. I've taken the approach of keeping it simple, it's for editing so it only has the edit view, but considering adding a preview button to the edit page. Would that be useful?
I wanna share something Iβve been working on in my free time: darkdown.app. Itβs an web-based markdown editor, with organization features and easy sharing of either individual notes or whole folders. Gorgeous design, no distractions. Would looove feedback and ideas β€οΈ
Another balanced take on AI productivity claims. It's not that it can't increase productivity, but how do you measure that? Delivering 10x faster means a 3 month project takes a week and a bit. Outside of prototypes and greenfield projects, is that realistic?

Iβm starting to look around for my next role!
I'm a deeply technical engineer, with over a decade of professional experience in domains from cyber security to distributed systems and decentralized tech.
My personal projects have spanned embedded systems to biohackingβI love learning new things.
Most engineers hate estimates because they've been weaponized by bad managers. But when teams treat estimates as conversations instead of contracts, they actually ship more consistently. Not because they predict better, but because they communicate better.

Haven't been posting in a while, so here's a spicy take: Your job as a software engineer isn't writing code. It's solving problems. The best engineers don't optimize for flow stateβthey optimize for impact.

Forgot to post here so... Hello network! It's time for me to move on and I'm kicking off the search for my next role. Let me know if you're looking for someone who obsessively ships, takes on whatever work has the highest impact, and consistently gets feedback like "you're too impatient".
