So that happened. GitHub described me as an "AI Coding Pioneer" right alongside @angiejones.tech and @simonwillison.net during the opening keynote at GitHub Universe!

Finally, our advisor team:

@angiejones.tech is a VP of Engineering at @block.xyz

@jason.energy is the creator of CodeTV and hoping this "pen in the hat" thing catches on as a fashion trend

As a dev, there are a lot of things I miss or grunt work I don't enjoy where AI can help me work faster. Experts like @angiejones.tech and Simon Willison have discussed this

But using AI as a cudgel to put pressure on devs to improve by a made up number like "5x" lest they get laid off is bad

On wrapping APIs for MCP. I felt this was a great overview of how agents work too, I think non-engineers can follow this too.

Given the current market, I've been thinking a lot about the next generation of builders. They're AI-native but may not have professional experience yet. They just need someone to take a chance on them.

Here's that opportunity: Block Builder Fellowship

Now streaming for everyone: 3 teams of devs had 4 hours to build apps that use something other than a keyboard or mouse for input. @leonnoel.bsky.social, @ericaxtech.bsky.social, @kentcdodds.com, @joelhooks.com, Billy, & @zig.computer took the challenge

In today's episode of "real AI use cases outside the IDE", one of our engineering teams had Goose review their bug fix PRs, then summarize trends and blind spots. Next, they'll bake that analysis into the repo and have a CI agent watch out for repeat issues πŸ’ͺ🏽

Not being nosy, I actually need your help. How much are you spending monthly on AI tools for personal projects outside of work per month?

Sure sex is great but have you ever deleted hundreds or even thousands of lines of code and everything still worked?

browser extensions are clunky and not sticky. if i were a browser vendor, I'd go all out with making it AI native (or at least launching a new browser that is)

I've been wondering this myself. Like will Perplexity be acquired? Will Chrome go full AI?
