Crazy that the PCs basically have no platform 😭
Fedora KDE is probably the best experience at this point, a lot of KDE developers use it so it’s well supported.

The Big Move™ has been completed!!!
After some running around and panicking, the router/firewall powering Sineware services has been migrated from a TP-Link Omada ER605 running OpenWRT to an Intel N100 Router Mini PC running OPNsense.

Installed a Zigbee Garage Door Opener!
Unfortunately this is a Tuya device, and Tuya does not follow the standard Zigbee library, so I needed to add a quirk to ZHA to make it work properly in Home Assistant (courtesy of the fine folks in this GitHub issue […]

New video on the channel! (Building a GBS Control Video Scaler)

Monitor showing the VyOS startup logs and login prompt, next to a generic passively cooled N100 router mini PC.
It’s VyOS time
Wow (unsurprisingly) using Component video and a nice Upscaler (In this case a GBS Control custom design from RetroScaler) makes a HUGE difference with the PS2 compared to composite and a generic AV2HDMI lol
Logo for reference
It is LXQt
PS2 with a 15” Portable Monitor showing the Gentoo OpenRC “Starting up” screen.
Linux (5.4), Gentoo no less, on the PS2!!!! This is so cool
Original PS2, being played on a “Yodoit” portable HDMI monitor, displaying a scene from a Persona 3 cutscene. Also visible is a Rimuru Slime plush next to the PS2.
GAMING
Dell BIOS screen showing the 256 GB as detected
Orico mSATA SSD next to the PCB of the IDE laptop Adapter
CrystalDiskMark on Windows XP, Aoi Edition (anime girl), showing 77 MB/s read and 65 MB/s write
MiniTool Partition Wizard (windows pre boot) aligning the partitions on the SSD
IDE SSD shenanigans on the Japanese Inspiron
Oops! All Wii Fit!
I had a Stream 7 and honestly it was a pretty fun tablet at the time (until I unfortunately broke the screen)
Picked up this Panasonic CF-RZ6 from a store in Akihabara, it’s pretty neat! It’s a 10” convertible with full sized HDMI, VGA, and Ethernet (!!!). Feels great physically too, gonna be a great laptop when I need to quickly run to my servers physically to do maintenance and such.
should’ve added it with Vista when they added all the voice control accessibility stuff and Inking tablet stuff
Sound! Euphonium (Anime) playing from a USB blu ray drive placed on top of a Macbook Air running Asahi Linux and VLC.
Shout out to KEYDB.cfg 🫡
*INSPIRON NOT INSPIRING forgive me i’m on a train
RAM also upgraded with a stick I got from dipping into the bin of assorted RAM at the Hard Off.
(Also booting off USB cause this laptop needs and IDE HDD, which is does not have. Once I get something for that we’re installing Windows XP of course!)
Japan trip update: having a great time with an Inspiring i bought from a Hard Off and this K-On CD from a store in Akiba
A box on the floor in a store in Akiba full of iPods
That ladies and gentlemen is a literal box of 5 dollar iPod touches
you wouldn't check this post's atproto record
Is it just styled like the iPod OS or is it actually the iPod OS 🤔
