at least in the west more often than not claims of both "patriarchy" and "matriarchy" or belief in ether as ether things that do or should exist are just fascist dog whistles rooted in sexism and misinformation or half truths.

circling back to the belief in the wage gap though, pay discrimination on the basis of such things as race, sex, religion, gender, etc. has been illegal since the 1970's so if you suspect it and can organize with your coworkers then your employer may be in legal trouble if you prove it in court.

or the way men and males are painted as more violent and thus often denied DV support when in reality more than 2/3rds of unprovoked violent abusers are women.

or the entire premise of "patriarchy" which is really mostly just hate speech and sexist dogma against the male sex.

such as the belief in the half truth "the wage gap" between sexes for the same work when in reality for the same work women on average actually make more than men, though men on average tend towards fields with higher risk of injury or death and thus there is hazard pay.

i'm not really sure how to approach it sometimes when i see people i know are well meaning and good people prop up some things i know to though be half truth if not myths that prop up fascist ideologies though commonly accepted as reality and things they think need to be addressed.
