Since we're approaching the end of 2025 I thought I would lay out plans for next year for FamiWiki, specifically some goals I want to achieve with the site. So here are 10 things I want to see improved to some degree.🧵
Please note that there are some minor formatting issues when viewed on mobile. We hope to address these as soon as possible.
Our Main Page was recently redesigned with a brand new layout! This new revision keeps what was previously present and introduces new sections such as Featured and News. You can also find our latest YouTube uploads as well.

There's no such thing as a Japanese NES. There's the Family Computer. There's the Nintendo Entertainment System. And there's the Disk System. But there's no such thing as a Japanese NES. You see, "Japanese NES" is not an accurate term to describe the Famicom. The Famicom predates the NES by two years and has attributes that do not apply to the NES. The use of the term can create misinformation and is often not helpful as a description for the Famicom. So please describe the Famicom properly as its own video game console. And never use the NES out of familiarity when it is not appropriate. We thank you. Diskun thanks you.
famiwiki.com redirecting to famiwiki.net
Users who search famiwiki.com will now be automatically redirected to famiwiki.net, rather than encountering an error page. We hope this provides a smoother experience for anyone who uses the .com address instead of .net.

Our Main Page has been updated to include all the wiki sites under The OpenWiki Project. We greatly appreciate being apart of this project otherwise we wouldn't exist today.

I've reached the halfway mark in my Famicom cartridge collecting journey. I made a baseball stack to celebrate because of course I needed multiple copies of this game.

FamiWiki has updated the background of the site to feature a repeating pulseline image. A dark mode version has also been created.

Update: The issue has been resolved.
The host for famiwiki.net (The OpenWiki Project) is currently being DDOSed. As a result FamiWiki will not be functional until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to get the site back up as soon as possible.
Normally not much of a browser plugins guy, but as someone who occasionally looks up video game things online, this one's been very nice. addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo...

This text comes from the WikiBound page for the Nintendo Entertainment System but was removed, however I got permission to move the contents over.
Over the past few months I helped consult on this video providing various materials and notes that greatly enhanced the video. It was a pleasure working on this.
