In Pokopia, each Pokemon has their own quirky speaking style (à la Animal Crossing), and because you're a Ditto, all the ways you can respond directly mirror them. Almost crying on the bus thinking about it, they are just like me for real 😭

This is obviously a joke, but the truth is that Xenoblade X's soundtrack absolutely had a huge impact on me, and I feel like it did end up practically redirecting the course of my career. No matter how you slice it, there has been an influential Sawano soundtrack for every part of my adult life

I think a big part of growing up is realising that if you want anyone to know it's your birthday, you kind of need to tell them 😔 anyway, unrelated, but I turned 30 today yaHOOOOOO

It hopefully goes without saying, but treating so many developers and artists working on the game as disposable like this is the kind of thing that makes incredibly talented people leave this industry for good. What a waste.

The reputational damage of doing something like this with Highguard, though, is practically incalculable. I feel awful for everyone involved, but I also feel angry that so many people's jobs were made dependent on obscenely high expectations. We can't keep doing this

Whenever something like this happens (and it seems to be happening a lot, recently!!) I think about how FFXIV took years and years and a lot of funding to recover from its disastrous initial launch. The amount of good will generated from that alone guarantees I check out every expansion, on launch.

-Announced less than THREE MONTHS AGO
-Released WITH LITTLE TO NO WARNING as a shadow drop on January 16th, announcing content that would release throughout 2026
-Is shutting down next week as a result of not having garnered enough players in a month and a half??

Yup, trans people have definitely been around for most if not all recorded history - I more mean that there are people you can speak to RIGHT NOW who have been out as trans for over half a century, and they are routinely overlooked by the wider world.

I've been legally a woman for almost a decade now, so you'd think my experience might even be a valuable asset in a conversation like this, but frequently trans perspectives are just kind of quietly abandoned in these conversations (as if we are biased simply by existing happily)
