Stamp photo thingy of Ferdinand de Lesseps led the initial French attempt in 1881. Despite his success with the Suez Canal, his insistence on a sea-level designβignoring the tropical terrainβresulted in a financial collapse and the deaths of over 20,000 workers.
"Don't do it!"
-Ferdinand de Lesseps, after killing tens of thousands of workers.
Coffee, straight out of my nose.
The picture shows a needle made of bone, it resembles its modern descendants with an eye at one end and a tapered end.
Things used in everyday life are the real archaeological treasures!
This sewing needle was made from animal bone some 13,000 years ago.
Some designs simply don't need to be improved, because form and functions were perfectly matched from the start

I'm fascinated by the history of sewing technology because it's a harbinger for significant global sea changes.
I really regret not waking up early to watch Ohtani hit a grand slam in a ten run inning and the game getting called due to the mercy rule.

This thread is not about whether Platner is a Nazi. Itβs about how he lies like a toddler when heβs cornered. And thatβs enough. Heβs not electable, and Susan Collins knows it. You can too, if you can read this thread, or this 18-page document. 2/

A photo with a fortuitous crop of a statue of the jolly Green Giant making an o face
Hans Moleman from The Simpsons is in a phone booth getting attacked by birds for some reason I'm guessing this is treehouse of horror. The caption is I need the shittiest take you have... No that's too shitty.
So bad that I had to double check to make sure it wasn't fake.
Fuck yes.
[Going to keep this in the chamber if my daughter ever needs it]
I hope you don't mind that I laughed out loud at this. He sounds like a character.
I'm actually kind of envious. I found out 10 years after my mom died that she was fucking a different dude to get knocked up with me and my sister. I wish I could have had frank, uncensored conversations with her about these major parts of her life, but she was always too purposefully prudent.
Honorable mentions:
FZero
Yoshi's Island
Zelda A Link to the past
Any of the dragon quests
Final fantasy 5
KOTOR/Mass Effect
I like hitting things with swords and spells
I always wondered what it would look like if I pitched against a team with, like, two random pros on it...

the meaning is now beyond me
Architectures is still my most emotional, chaotic and powerful 2D piece to date, but I have changed a lot as a person and creator since making it in November 2024. I made a recolored version to reflect how I think and feel now. =β=

Ooo, I like this a lot
Some sort of six wheeled monstrosity
Look at this car that was just advertised by Lexus in Japan.
I didn't think it was possible to make a car uglier than the cyber truck, but Lexus found a way.
Fuck yea
100%.
This is a common failing of "startups" like Bluesky.
"I don't understand the point of the question. *I* will be fine."
Shame on the officials (then and now) for not doing the bare minimum.
I placed in the top ten in a half marathon right behind some Kenyan Olympians because the course was not well marked and basically everyone faster than me got hopelessly lost (ambulances and police cars had to go rescue people and bring them back to the course).
It pays to be prepared.
I love that this is how I found out
