Absolutely. I want to do a few more upgrades on it but had been waiting for MOT in case of any problems. Am so relieved not only that it passed but as you say, that it's been a good buy.
Tyres & brakes will be at least £300 & I want a service doing soon too but good to have no time pressure for it.
OMG, its passed! Advisories for 2 tyres & brake pads which I suspected but they're legal at the moment, will get them done in next couple of weeks for peace of mind.
Am soooo relieved. A fail would have been v stressful at an already stressful time.
Tester said its in good nick for a 10 yr old van.
MOT day. Awake since 0430h fretting. It's always a bit stressful with an older 2nd hand vehicle & on a low income & a single woman, but even more so when living in it with elderly dog.
In contrast to the coverup of the EPSTEIN crimes here in America, there are ongoing investigations in the UK, France, Turkey, Poland, Latvia & Lithuania that is sure to expose his central, filthy role in the largest crimes against humanity case in world history. #AccountabilityIsComing
Lying on bunk in van in carpark listening to cadets parading & drilling right in front of van, takes me back 39yrs. L,R,L, halt, step,1, 2.
I'd hv been a couple of years older & oh so keen & enthusiastic & untainted by hard reality.
I'd give anything to go back in time & do it all again.

I used to work in Clitheroe, in a different millennium! Not been back this millennium! I looked at it recently on Google satellite view & its gone from being not much more than a village to a medium sized town now! When I worked there, the only food/supermarket type shop was a small Spar type shop.
Glad you treated yourself & enjoyed it. I'm about to go & get a MacDs tea. Not sure what I'll have but I'll definitely have it with a chocolate milkshake as I love them & they're really filling & probably not as unhealthy as cola.
Maybe watching it now 40 yrs after I watched it as an 18/19 yr old I'd see it differently. But back then I very much enjoyed it. And there's many films & books I suspect I wouldn't enjoy 40 yrs after first watching/reading them.
Interesting. I've never seen or read Catcher in the Rye. In my youth & until I got Covid 5yrs ago I was an avid reader & excelled in English Literature at school. I thoroughly enjoyed Ferris Buellers Day Off aged 18/19 back in the day. Whether I'd still enjoy it now 40 yrs later I don't know.
Today I have done sod all. And it's been exactly what I needed.
Lunch was pork pie, quiche & crisps. Dinner was Pot Noodle & hot cross bun.
I've done v little today so far, still in PJ's. It's a bit chilly to sit out but it's good to be able to leave stuff outside to make more room in the van. Today will be full body babywipe wash & clean clothes then a walk to Tesco later for food & loo. It's the breathing space I need.
It's no worse & he has slept a bit longer the past 2 nights only waking me once during the night. He's fine in himself but I'm worried he's spending too much time cooped up in van. So having this freedom this weekend will help a lot if I can somehow increase his fluid intake too to flush bugs out.

How old are you? I think it's a film that needed to be watched at time of release by youngsters of similar age. I watched it age ~16 in mid80s when it was released, I loved it, probably bcos I could identify with the characters. I loved the soundtrack too, listened to it regularly for years after.
Altho I'm right in the middle of town, 5 mins walk from centre & busy main roads, there's quite a lot of trees & green patches & LOTS of birdsong which is lovely.
Not seen the dog this content for a VERY long time. Huge pressure off me. This org has been fantastic with me this week.
Healthy eating is almost impossible if on benefits. In the past, low income families could still eat reasonably healthily with 1 parent at home with time to scour shops for bargains & cheapest prices, batch cook etc. Local shops, schools & essential services reduced time & cost impact then.
A sickening society is clear in these statistics
So why is it not in the news?
Powerful wake-up call from @chakrabortty.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
That it happened with the specific tool used raises grave concerns about the prison service. What else do prisoners have access to? What else is going on behind locked doors? What is prison staff involvement in these kinds of incidents?
Leisurely breakfast in PJ's this morning, after slightly better sleep, 5hrs+1hr+1.5hrs.
A grey murky day today, about 8C, no sun but dry, hoping for some sun later.
Dog is loving the freedom & being able to potter round, safely behind 6ft wire fencing. Takes huge worry off me about his wellbeing.
I'm not used to so much social interaction + all the stress re property hunting, viewings, health/medication issues, MOT next week, dog bladder probs & vet visit.
So my already struggling brain & body are now battered.
Hoping for dry weather this w/e so I can sit outside & just breathe & unwind.
No access to the building so no water or loo but I'm 3 mins walk from MacDs & 5 mins from Tesco & have replenned water earlier.
I'm ready for some quiet downtime after being with people all day for 5 days.
Blue moon! Through my roof light in the van.
It's actually the security lights in the compound I'm staying in, casting quite a pretty blue/purple light.
Just me & dog here now by ourselves till 0900 on Monday, on tarmac behind a locked gate with a grassy area & picnic tables. Dog can roam free ❤️
Gutted, the milk is off 🤮
Debating whether to walk up to MacDs (about 5 mins) in the rain for coffee. Or whether I can wait another 2 hrs till the veterans hub opens & try to scrounge some.
Still v much in fire fighting mode re various problems, but having other people to mull things over with makes a huge difference & not so lonely, even if they don't really understand.
Van is 15c now & time to get coffee underway.

Will brew up shortly, it takes a bit of effort & organisation, as space is limited, everything has to always be packed away.
Got a good Naafi cafe breakfast to look forward to in a few hours time.
Just realised that means I've been here 1week.
I'm v weary, not used to being with people so much.

0530h, awake for an hour, woken by heavy rain on van roof. Got about 5hrs sleep which is most I've had in one stretch for the past week.
Dog is still asleep which is good, has slept nearly 8 hrs without needing to go out which is a v good sign.
Just put the heater on as it was chilly 10C in van.

He hardly drinks during the day, usually only in eves so I'm trying to figure how to get more fluid in him in mornings & I'm thinking bone broth added to his water bowl might tempt him. Apparently also blueberries have anti bacterial properties. He's going to dine like a king this next month 🙄😂🫰💷
He thinks he's invincible. He also thinks he's still 4, not 14🙄 Can't understand why bushes, fences, lamp posts now run into him at night😂
V hard to tell when something's wrong with him but I knew waking me up for wee several times/night= not normal.
I'm not as worried now but still cautious.
No signs of pain or discomfort, just pee urgency, but he's a Staffy, they simply don't do pain. The metacam he's on for arthritis is dog equiv of ibuprofen - anti inflam & pain relief - so hopefully he's not in pain. It hasn't stopped him chasing round after tennis balls the past few days!
