So let me get this straight ...

1. US bombs Iran
2. Oil price goes up a bit, benefitting Russia's petrostate
3. Russia gives Iran targeting info
4. Oil price shoots WAY up
5. US unsanctions Russian oil

I’m fucking glad to live in Quebec where 99.9% of our electricity is produced by renewable. I’m also fucking glad to have an EV, an induction stove and electric heating because oh boy

(And I’ll still get hit by the inflation this creates)

It's oddly reassuring to see war with Iran going exactly like how everyone has said it would for the last several decades

Yeah it’s bounded by the same limitations that liberation day tariffs had. If things change the worst won’t happen. But if nothing changes that’s where we’re going which is terrible

Please don’t spread misinformation. Tomahawks fly at low altitude. It’s climbing like a THAAD interceptor (we are out of interceptors).

Yeah I agree, but sonnet is still in my experience miles beyond the other LLM.

Lot of people calling this a bubble pop, meanwhile Meta and Nvidia are moving in right now to lease the property.

My guess is that OpenAI’s moat is evaporating and partners are getting nervous. And they should! It’s not even close to the best product out there anymore.

My take is Anthropic decided what type of use case they wanted to build Claude for first while the rest of the big players built their models first then tried to apply them to various use cases. A bunch of masters of none.

Even using it as an help for writing Claude is so freaking good. Contrary to basically every other model it doesn’t fuck up copy and paste and just handles longer prompts so so much better.

Tbh I think it’s an electoral decision by the CAQ/Legault here. No need to create new electoral problems rn with CAQ voters fleeing to the PQ. But apparently Quebec is supportive of the measures, the government just didn’t want to sign the papers.

Basically leaving this to the next administration.

Evidence piling up that the Trump regime thought Iran is Venezuela, and the Maduro operationβ€”which needed some luck to go as smoothly as it did, and didn’t actually advance US national interest or improve anything for Venezuelansβ€”was easily repeatable in the Middle East.

This was not very smart.

From a national security point of view green energy always made more sense, but this will really push a lot of politicians who did not understand how important it was to ply and push green energies.

This has nothing to do with the specific content here, but Polymarket adopting the language of news, here with BREAKING, and with Texas election results earlier this week, is BAD. Polymarket is not and will never be a news org or break news. It's a betting app. It's Draft Kings for sociopaths.

The bad news is that Trump is probably going to get somewhere between 100k-10m people killed. The good news is that decarbonization will accelerate dramatically and likely stick

it's funny you can see how much the New Deal fixed macroeconomic stability within the United States, and the elite hated FDR for it
