Although I did wonder; the sepals are curving away from the flowers and some new growth was green(ish), which I learnt were indicators of Cherry Plum, although there were also thorns so I was thinking it might be Blackthorn for a while as the new growth was less obvious

It's certainly nice to see more plants flowering, although the implications are worrying...! Although I think I've only found around 20 or so flowering plant species so far this year (and I'm not sure that I can count some until I'm sure about the identification)

That sounds interesting! I'm never quite sure if some plants might have somehow come from gardens

Yay, thank you! The petals and leaves look alike, that seems likely! Rather early, but it seemed to be one isolated plant so far, maybe there will be more closer to and during April.

Thank you, that looks likely! So it's still developing, although early indeed if these are expected to flower in May and June...

That's one way to keep track! And fortunately everyone's kind when I misidentify things...!
