That was a first for them. I guess, too, it's just a moving back to form. 80's horror and prior were more steeped in the fantastic. Ebbs and flows
Still, it's all so damned interesting.

I've been watching their weekly book launches since 2023 now (I keep hoping they'll mention mine...they did once! lol), and when they do horror they usually do the usual names, who skew less fantastic horror, etc. So it was a bit of surprise to me that she said "dark fantasy" for each one
I had the only single of that as a kid!
AWESOME! That's wonderful when that happens
oh no that really sucks!
No, Claude is not anxious.
Anxiety requires two components:
1. Awareness of the possibility of annihilation of self.
2. An autonomic nervous system.
Mimicry of the words of an anxious person is not being anxious.
A dog can be anxious. Your plagiarism machine cannot.
such a great fucking movie

My friend Anthonyβs textbook on LGBTQIA+ nutrition, a very under-researched topic! (I have cool friends)

web companies pre 2k internet bubble burst were hated in the same way

In fact, that's what everyone has been saying for the past few years, including the tech bros promoting this garbage. That's something that was completely expected and not "unexpected" at all
Sheesh. What weird reporting from NPR
"unexpectedly" "lost"
it's not like the jobs fell behind the couch or got dropped in the toilet or something
I bet these "lost jobs" have something to do with AI zealotry from corporations, eager to get rid of those pesky humans
& if that's the case (I bet it is) then it's not "unexpected"
Two is fantastic! It's split into two games, Eternal Punishment and Innocent Sin. EP was the only one that came to the US on the PS1, but I think IS got translated when it was ported to the PS Portable.
Great games
Hell yeah! persona 4 rules!
Though 2 and 3 are my faves, esp Innocent Sin
ME TOO and it was super dense this morning
A foggy two mile walked before work this morning
RIGHT? Looks so good
LOL I know, right? I mean, I can see it. But also, can we not do x meets y stuff anymore, it's gotten silly
Yeah, the tone didn't grab me either! But trailers can be weird like that, I guess, and maybe it will be great (or terrible?). I am eagerly awaiting what my daughter thinks, since I trust her judgement as a follow horror fan
Maybe it's because I read the book and the dread in my head feels different than the dread on screen! Brains are weird like that
Honestly, the trailers left me meh. But my daughter is seeing it tonight (she loves Harliequin, and the movie feels very Joker 2 through Frankenstein lens) and will let me know if it's good or not!
Honestly, I prefer my art to be polarizing. Otherwise, it's boring
A decent adaptation, but still misses the books heavy heavy atmosphere of dread
And it's surreal and creepy because it's me
There is a woman in the house on the in between, who has a family of corpses and a butler and reads tarot card. The corpses are like slow moving zombies, her children, her husband.
Still, until they're not
It's weird how I'm picturing this one. Takes place in '68, has a very Hammer gothic vibe to it. Though later will probably lean more into hippiesplotation, it also is very much dark fantasy as well as horror-horror
Interesting. All the horror listed for this week's new releases by Locus were all dark fantasy. Reminds me of what me and @bobpastorella.com have been discussing lately.
