So sad that this will be Sherry's last appearance in the series, barring flashbacks

Even if there's a hypothetical way to make a palatable RE5 remake, I don't trust Capcom to pull it off
Playing a bit of Hoverflow, a first-person speedrun platformer that came out recently. It feels great, with a beefy story mode, unlockable modes, etc.
The core mechanic is Counter-Strike style surfing, but simplified. Surf panels maintain velocity just by landing on them - aim down to accelerate.
The emerging cases of AI psychosis have shown that all it takes to drive some people completely insane is to put them in contact with a sycophantic chatbot who always agrees with them.
Now, what does that tell us about billionaire CEOs surrounded by sycophantic people who always agree with them?
RE5 was uncommonly bad even for 2009
Do you know one thing that annoys me? Developers who'll use the AI generated content disclosure to plead why they're just a teeny tiny dev who's just gotta use AI, and you can't be upset because they're just a little guy who has to use it, they're just a little AI guy.
Never easy, but sometimes you just gotta let go and move on man.
a sketch design for a smartphone Has: De-googled OS, 60hrzm 64gb storage, 5 inch display, 1080p, OLED screen, plastic body, bluetooth, widgets, rubber corners, two programmable buttons, single hinge camera that flips up for selfies, removable battery, headphone jack, USBC charging, loop in corner for charms, SD memory slot, and clear plastic back so you can put in your own design or something idk Does not have: AI, face recognition, turn-on on lift, mandatory updates
followup to dream phone design, took some ideas from people I liked. It's not designed for everyone but it's designed for me specifically and I'm mad it doesn't (and will likely never) exist
Blown away by this showcase today, everything in it is so fascinating and inspiring. I wanna make more games that are like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og6_...
a sketch of a smartphone with tactile buttons for home/window/back, headphone jack, no AI BS, sim card thingy you can open with your nail, camera that doesn't cover the damn screen, and a 5 inch/127mm screen which is a reasonable size
I wouldn't say I'm massively into phones or anything but I sketched this out of frustration bc why are there no modern phones with these features, it would be so perfect and I'm mad the only ones are old and slow
HORSES won the IGF Nuovo Award. Weβre profoundly grateful. To us, this recognition also speaks to a broader idea: that no gatekeeper should decide which games deserve to exist or what counts as art. Thank you to everyone who supported HORSES and helped carry it this far. PS: What a wonderful team!
This is the best lede I've seen in a tech story in...years? There should be an award just for ledes.
Tech execs need to be sent to the hague. This is not me being extreme or hyperbolic, they need to face consequences.
"I built a system without accountability" means you are accountable.

I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

Disney is downright allergic to finished games from its properties. Imagine how much time, talent, and effort has been wasted on projects like this over the past 15 years.
Someone got bored of all the white collar crime and sex-pesting in the industry and went straight to murder cults.
Perhaps even in post-Capital world, legacy media like this should not exist. Imagine if half the energy put into the latest glup shitto or... whatever the hell is going on with Trek was put into new stories and new settings.
The state of the internet is a bunch of people who are on record as having raped children telling you that artistic expression is immoral.
I donβt think Trump and his people are capable of engineering βdistractions,β I think the mind-numbing chaos we see every day is straightforwardly the result of giving the dumbest, cruelest, most corrupt, most selfish people of a generation near-unmitigated power
If the Dems who win in the 2026 midterms get squeamish about prosecuting this administration, we'll need to elect a bunch of new people running on Nuremberg shit for 2028. This isn't a joke. It's the law. It's justice. Biden let Trump back in the WH and this happened because Joe didn't do his job
I ain't judging nothing. I'm just saying offscreen ForceWicking would explain a lot
This would explain that one fight in the CG movies
RE7 is also decent for a toe dip, as it's the closest thing to a self-contained story in the series. It also brings back mechanics from older games, while being a bit more lenient (esp compared to RE1 remake)
Frontrunner for scariest game in the series, but ymmv
Hot take: Lotta folks got in on the original RE4, it still holds up, and it's probably an easier entry than 1 or 2 if you don't play much traditional survival horror.
(Maybe with HD project if you play on pc)
NO NO NO YOU DONβT

Since then, design has gone toward perfect readability. Extraction shooters especially create situations where experienced players can choose targets who are unlikely to initiate aggression or fight back effectively. This creates play patterns many people find unpleasant, which limits the audience.
we bag on the boomers a lot, but they dealt with their mid-life crisis in a good and normal way (buying a red sports car and having an affair with their secretary) whereas Gen X is all "maybe this next genocide will finally make them bring back the square spongebread cafeteria pizza"
