Nintendo's other games truly need to learn from Prime 4's options menu

Scarlet Violet running at higher clocks but pretending to be handheld was the only way I made it through the game 😮‍💨 I didn't have an oled that could really take advantage of it though

I really wish that there could have been an attempt to 'force' a game to 1080p handheld on Switch 2, or even feign docked mode in handheld.

The results really couldn't be all that bad aside from a few games that might explode, but in general I just avoid Switch 1 games now because of the scaling

As we worked on this a big issue is the memory use of the noise texture. The Gamecube only has 24MB of RAM, so every texture has to be carefully considered.

Zoid Kirsch @ZoidCTF If we used a low resolution texture (64x64) to save memory the "static" would be blurry and not crisp. One engineer on the team came up with a great idea: what if we just use the memory holding the Metroid Prime code itself! We quickly tried it out and it looked amazing.

Control Ultimate Edition is just straight up broken on my 3070 ti unless I force it to use DX11, the DX12 implementation is Not Great and textures start to look like they're from a PS1
