Last week, the EPA rescinded the government’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases. People at the state level must change leading polluters like Duke Energy, which is planning the largest gas buildout of any US corp. We need state leaders like Gov. Stein to lead the charge!

A North Carolina business court judge dismissed a groundbreaking climate lawsuit filed by the Town of Carrboro against Duke Energy Corporation in December 2024. While we are disappointed and disagree with the result, Carrboro is evaluating all of its options, including appeal.
NC WARN appreciates all the line workers with Duke Energy and contractors who have helped restore power and helped people be safe during the ice storm.

An analysis by the climate advocacy group NC Warn found that Duke Energy has canceled or closed early 19 nuclear reactor projects since the 1970s, costing at least $8.9 billion. The findings come as NC lawmakers consider legislation that would increase the risk of this happening again.
