New blog post up: a look at the late Greg Bear's complex and mournful addition to Halo's lore. Thanks for reading!

Absolutely awful news. Their remake of Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favorite PS4 titles. A tremendous waste of great talent.
Finished Romeo Is A Dead Man, yeah what a delight. A big damn hack n' slash piece of art. Never change Grasshopper.
New blog post up.Figured it was time to write a piece on the series this site was named after - and to finally read some of those tie-in novels that have been on my shelf since high school. Thanks for reading!

Quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever gotten to announce. A new prestige hardcover collection of a freakin' dinosaur comic from one of the best in the business?? Come on, man.
Back again with one more list from 2025 and it's something a little different than what I usually post up at Jackals: My favorite things I read last year. Thanks for reading!

Dude talks like a poorly translated Kojima villain.
Back once again with my favorites in Film & TV that I saw in 2025. This one's more of a "New to Me" list instead of a ranking of best new releases. There's a movie in here from 70 years ago. Thanks for reading!

This piece of Toriyama Dragon Quest art in the last @gameinformer.com issue damn near brought a tear to my eye.
Doing the Obi-Wan "you were the chosen one" monologue at my BG3 desktop icon right now.
Jfc man, just let your talented people do their thing. Brainstorm on paper, draw on a whiteboard, all that cool shit.
Exciting news! Thanks to the repeated generosity of @iamdavidbrothers.com, we are adding TWO more mini grants to this year's round!
Please make sure to submit your applications by the end of the month.

I'll happily get excited about cool game announcements. Give me what's effectively Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3 directed by the guy who directed the very games I basically built my taste on???? Straight to tears.
I've been reading Gou Tanabe's Lovecraft adaptations since his take on At the Mountains of Madness was released. This is the first time I've gotten to review one of his books. What a treat it was.
An absolute must for cosmic horror fans.
Absolutely did not see the FGC getting more hyped for an out of nowhere Avatar the Last Airbender Fighting game than a Marvel tag fighter, but that's pretty cool.
Avatar Legends looks cool as hell and I hope Tokon rules, keeping my opinions on hold til, you know, the games are actually out.
New piece up. I've always thought media tie-in books were interesting - so much so that I decided to write about them. Thanks for reading!

This is (and pardon my french) fucking outstanding news. It will be so amazing to see GI on shelves at places I regularly go - and even funnier to see them sold by the very company that gave up on them. Way to go, guys.
My review of Predator: Badlands is up over at Monkeys Fighting Robots. It's the kind of movie lore nerds like me have been wanting for decades.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Our Soot Stained Heart is of the most impeccably crafted comics I've ever read. It was actually a difficult comic to review purely on the basis that it felt like it was operating on a different playing field than most comics I've read in recent years.

I loved graduating from college to watch the industry I tried to get in to get ripped apart and turned into insultingly low-pay freelance gigs. All love and respect to the indie sites that are still putting in the good work partially just out of spite.
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
And thank you for what you do!
