I had some winter Crocs I wore in Antarctica for a year. I'd often wear them outside briefly too, thick soles and fuzzy interior. I think they were these www.crocs.com/p/classic-li...
TIL my elementary school gives out pens with four teeny button batteries inside to make a small projection with their logo. My 2yo discovered this, and they don't usually eat nonfood but I could only find 3 of the 4 batteries so three x-rays later (not in the toddler!) I'm still looking. Cursed swag
It turns out all you have to do to get me REALLY interested in writing a blog is make it very hard to access my blogging site which to procrastinate solving I must then do a small side programming quest. I should build this in to access my WordPress going forward! codexgalactic.com/2025/11/05/b...

2026 planner loaded! After a multi-year hiatus from social media and news (except LinkedIn for work β οΈ) I'm ready to be back... On the socials(Bluesky/Insta) at least. News can still wait
someone took my twitter handle - guess that means I've been gone for 1+ year! I deleted my account with option to reactivate before a year. To celebrate, I've linked my BlueSky account to my domain. Come @ me
today's use of AI is figuring out what to put in my garden. Using #Notion where via a spacebar I can call up the AI, iteratively got a bunch of recommendations and a checklist based on what I want/location/advice I need
Then I made a simple form
When that was done I imported into #airtable
First I used #ChatGPT to parse the recipe book, handed down for decades, into a table
I have a very normal volunteering opportunity at my kids nursery school to do the grocery shopping. so I've taken the chance to automate everything (I may do manually in the end, but it's fun)
the collapse of google search as a useful source of accurate information is a boon to screenwriters everywhere. "why didn't they just google the house to see if it was haunted" they did and the top ten entries were identical automatically generated real estate ads on different seo-scumming websites

Although I didn't have a huge amount of engagement on Twitter leaving it (and 10k plus followers behind) was like losing a virtual friend I'd chat with more frequently than many in person friends. A big loss of 2023 and the new space for me is still inchoate
I wrote an essay for the romance section of the @latimes.com! It's out today in digital and Sunday in print www.latimes.com/lifestyle/st...
I'm essentially always at inbox zero, but rarely do I get to the very end of my to-respond label. Today I made it and see that I'm rewarded with a calming image. My eye starts twitching when I peep on some people's unread count
