DARTH MARENGI

The boxes of the first and last are shaking with their lids slightly raised.] PERSON WITH MIC: And now, for the final round, you have each been given a skunk with a hangover and chewing gum stuck to its fur. As a storied institution older than Oxford, the AGAT is no stranger to threats upon its academic freedom. One of our deans was cellmates with Copernicus in Vatican jail (1539-41). They fashioned shivs from astrolabes, fighting off prison gangs of heretics, adulterers and sellers of church property.
I don't care as long as they introduce a new £25 note with a pony on it.

And a Happy Birthday to Douglas Adams (teenage me's favourite author). He would have turned 74 today.
One of my favourite literary put-downs is from Douglas Adams's The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Zaphod Beeblebrox, who often reacts in erratic ways, claims to be “pretty dangerous when I'm cornered,” to which Ford Prefect responds “you go to pieces so fast people get hit by the shrapnel.”
The troubles
A cucumber is very much like a bishop in chess in that it can only go diagonally (in the salad compartment of the fridge)

Post about secret of hedgehog hearing, with picture of hedgehog seemingly sniffing a flower, above a post talking about hedged bets

University tuition fees system is a “mess”, says Nick Clegg.
Talk about unfortunate coincidences - he’s got the same name as the bloke who promised not to raise them, then supported tripling them in coalition with the Tories.
