The year I was born. we basically had no idea why cancers happened and now we understand the underlying force behind it with 100% clarity and the molecular forces behind it with many orders of magnitude more resolution.
We were entirely in the dark, and now the room is lit.
a photo of a cinnabon menu. a nine pack of minibons is $23.99, and a 15 pack is just a dollar more.
some classic psych tricks on the pricing at this cinnabon: why buy 9 minibons for $23.99 when you can get 15 for $24.99?
i think they massively inflated the base price to trick people into thinking they were scoring some kind of "deal", thus spending more
so who buys the 9 (they said people do!)
justβ¦Β just imagine being a worn-out husk of a political human being motivated only by getting ahead at any cost and feeling enjoyment only from seeing other people sufferβ¦Β and trying to compete with this. impossible.
Corporate America has been waging a war against the trade union movement for a simple reason:
They know that union workers earn higher wages and better benefits than non-union workers.
Crime rates in all three cities have gone down, and in Baltimore at astounding levels, in part by treating crime as a public health crisis, rather than a "need more cops" crisis. popular.info/p/the-secret...

Here is the broadcast schedule for today.
What if Iβm a narcissist who experienced ego death during an acid trip in high school and so the thing Iβm narcissistic about is humanity and life and also the whole universe.

To be fair, Mastodon is federated, decentralized, and open source too.
That said, Blueskyβs been making good updates & getting more of a general userbase recently where Iβve not been on Mastodon in a while.
It sure is! They had a whole stream of this yesterday.
After all, the Switch was a combination of existing ideas to begin with. Console + Mobile. This is that now + βPCβ (when it comes to the type of games it then accommodates.)
FWIW, a console (thatβs also mobile) then adding mouse support for mouse-first games (RTS, strategy, creation-based games, etc.) or might be otherwise a preference (FPS, etc.) is somewhat of a novel idea weβve not really seen others attempt (if they seriously make it a core feature & not a novelty.)
One might come to terms with how explored the medium has become as well.
Weβve seen good ideas like 3D, analog sticks, motion, VR/AR, touch, mic, mouse, keyboard, rumble, online, etc. where some of those arenβt breaking through or are just expected.
Software can also enable innovation. Yet to see.
Iβm mostly just saying how iteration can still give good results. The Switch was a great idea, but the hardware was completely showing its age.
They did call it βSwitch 2β.
Bigger innovation probably wouldβve meant itβd be given a name of its own.
Sometimes they need to improve a great idea until the next one comes along rather than forcing things.
NES => SNES, PS1 => PS2 (looking externally), the DS variants, etc⦠all iterative & great.
A lilβ snooze from a lilβ kitty cat. Adorable.
@democracydocket.com already exists, but something like @marc.democracydocket.com (or similar) could be set up just as theyβve already done for that main account where individuals can then verify their individual affiliation.
Personal domains, too, if they donβt want to be tied to that one domain.

It can be a form of βverificationβ since one needs to have control over a domain to have it as your username, but itβs completely free unlike other platforms (as long as you already have a domain.)
It can also be nice as a marketing thing to make people more aware of oneβs website.
