I am heartbroken over the loss of Emmanuel Damas.

At 29, I lost my twin brother Andre, a pre-trial detainee, as a result of inadequate health care β€” much like Emmanuel.

I know the tremendous loss his family is facing. My prayers are with them as we continue to fight to hold ICE accountable.

How immigration enforcement is affecting a Framingham kindergarten classroom The Framingham school district enrolled 719 fewer students compared to last school year, a "significant drop," said superintendent Bob Tremblay. While there are other factors driving the decline, the ...

Empty seats tell the story of Trump's cruelty in Massachusetts. A Framingham kindergarten teacher watched seven of her students disappear this year, their families torn apart by ICE. We're fighting back - in court and everywhere else.

β€œAs a woman of faith, I believe in the power of prayer β€” and today I am praying for our country and for the families who have lost loved ones in the recent U.S. strikes on Iran. The loss of three American service members is heartbreaking, and their sacrifice weighs heavily on us all.

Military action has real and lasting consequences. Our nation must follow the law, protect innocent civilians, and respect Congress’ role in decisions about war.

Here at home, my focus remains on protecting the safety and civil rights of everyone in Massachusetts.”

Generations of Black freedom fighters, leaders, and activists paved the way for me vote or own a house - let alone serve as your Attorney General.

When I think of what they sacrificed, how can we not lead with courage and conviction in this moment in history?

Trump tried to end birthright citizenship on day one. We sued immediately and got it blocked. Now we're at the Supreme Court defending every child born on U.S. soil. That's been the law for over 150 years. Trump can't rewrite the Constitution.

Your AGO at work -

Two childcare workers reached out to my office when they thought their employer failed to pay them on time and award accrued sick time.

We stepped in and as a result, the employer will now pay over $90k in restitution to 82 workers - on top of penalties to the state.

If feds won’t regulate prediction markets, states must try - The Boston Globe Companies like Kalshi and Polymarket raise substantial risks of insider trading.

Prediction markets are rapidly growing while feds turn a blind eye to their unlawful behavior.

In Massachusetts, we're stepping up. That's why we've sued Kalshi for trying to dodge our state's sports betting regulations - if you want to operate here, you have to play by our rules.

The SAVE Act would make it nearly impossible for millions of eligible Americans to vote, creating barriers so high that even your birth certificate may not be enough. If your vote didn't have power, they wouldn't be fighting so hard to take it away.

Senators: do your job. Protect the right to vote.

Ways to get civically engaged instead of watching That Man lie on national television for an hour:

1️⃣ Check in on your neighbors and help them with shoveling

I’m not just your Attorney General - I’m also the mother of two beautiful boys, Aiden and Alexander.

I want to know that I’m leaving not just them, but ALL of our kids behind a safe and healthy democracy, affordable economy, and livable planet so they can do more than just survive, but thrive.

ICYMI: the Trump Admin is now trying to lower the quality of your drinking water through a proposed EPA rule.

This rule would limit the authority of states and Tribes to review water quality and protect state waters from federal projects.

State AGs are fighting back to oppose this rule.

I want to share my story - because it informs everything I do as your AG.

My path to public service was far from traditional. My mom died in a car accident when I was 8 months old, visiting my father, who was incarcerated. My brothers and I grew up poor in public housing, sometimes in foster care.

Every day as Attorney General, I carry this story - and my deep sense of faith - with me as I use my office to fight for a fairer, more just Massachusetts where families can afford to not just survive, but THRIVE.

That's who I am and why I'm running for reelection.

I eventually defeated incumbent on the Boston City Council and now serve as Massachusetts' Attorney General - and the first woman of color to win statewide office in our state's history.

I share my story not because it's a Black person's story or a poor person's story - it's an American story.

I met my father for the first time when I was 8 years old, but he wouldn't live to see me graduate college. My twin brother eventAndre passed away as a pre-trial detainee from lack of adequate health care.

I went on to become the first person in my family to graduate from college and law school.
