I mean... not the ones whose kids were in those schools though.

Not trying to be flippant. Just trying to understand.

The remainder would be due to propaganda. Propaganda works. This group believes either that bad things are not actually happening, or that they're a necessary evil to avoid something even worse. Often they believe both simultaneously, because cognitive dissonance is pronounced in this group.

Second, there are the true jerks who frame their worldview around identifying scapegoats and punishing them. They crave strong leaders who will make life bad for Bad Kinds Of People. That's maybe 25%. They exist everywhere, but they're usually outnumbered, so their effect is easier to overlook.

I speculate there are three components.

First is the usual 5-10% baseline wrong answer you get in any poll. 5-10% of poll respondents would tell you birds aren't real or the Earth is flat. They're either messing with the poll, misunderstood the question, or can't comprehend reality.

Christopher Lee reportedly once said β€œEvery actor has to make terrible films from time to time, but the trick is never to be terrible in them.”

Hard to blame them really. The world currently seems to believe LLMs will replace all software, so software companies have to appear to be the ones doing the replacing instead of the ones being replaced.

Just watched Free Solo for the third time. Man, that is an awesome film. The rock climbing was cool too.

Ok maybe you can fill me in. Aren’t the Americans foreign invaders? I have trouble imagining how staying could be what the locals want but, as you say, I’m way out of my lane here.

Remaining could also lead to unforetold outcomes that may not behoove American or Iranian interests.

Every election term ends with a country-wide vote for best and worst congressperson. No voting for your own state. The state with the best gets a bonus seat next election; the state with the worst loses a seat.

Ranked ballots so you can't split the vote by having two equally bad reps.

It's nearly 40% of her life ago.

She should be taken seriously as a public figure if she merits it. If you want to factor in things she said as a child, be my guest, but I'm not sure that's a great recipe for finding the best candidate.

Well, no. HNWI means you have a million bucks. You can't get a private jet for a million bucks.

Even if you added two more levels to this, you still couldn't distinguish billionaires from non-billionaires. That's how big a billion is.

You'd need to add not two but six more levels to appropriately separate Elon Musk from mere billionaires.

For a sense of scale, this rating system goes up by roughly a factor of 5 at each level, and tops out at $30M net worth as the starting point for UHNWI, lumping everyone above this level into the same category.
