My painting where Agrias kisses Ovelia, this time without the chocobo, and kinda darker themes

I was tinkering with this again, because I can't just leave things alone after finishing. I wanted to see how it looked like without the chocobo. I think I'll make a thread with how I though about this piece

-…until she encounters Agrias’ spirit. The blood trail is one of the ideas I decided not to use in the original, but it fit with the tragedy of this version.The chocobo in the original I thought it could be the one used by Delita to get there.
So yeah that was my thought process. 😊

-…The idea in my head is that this could be the reunion that they never got in life. Technically Ovelia doesn’t die in that scene but in later events, but Imma ignore that for the sake of the drama lol.
So in the end regarding the painting, Ovelia dies and her spirit walks from the chapel…-

-…I made them seem partially faded. The reason for that is because I thought this could have happened after the end of the main events of the game. Agrias gets blown up with Ramza and the party in another dimension, and Ovelia gets stabbed by Delita…-

-…Agrias kissing Ovelia. My intentions changed a bit as the drawing progressed. Like the setting of the scene I thought about the ruined chapel in the end where Ovelia confronts Delita. From that idea the drawing became more and more tragic in a sense.

This was the original sketch that I made. As you can see there was supposed to be a horse instead of a chocobo. Then after a while I remembered that… there are no horses in fft. So I ended up with a chocobo.

I’d personally prefer just a balance patch. I like the game a lot as it is from a casual player perspective. If they really flip it around, idk why not just make a new game at that point? Also Millia is cool now so I’m satisfied lol
