I definitely hate any form of self-promotion, as well!
Blech
I'm an editor by nature. I find it much easier to whittle things down from a starting point than to actually create that starting point.
I kind of like that part, because it means you're so close to it being a real book out there in the world.
The front cover of the vinyl release of "Gathering of October Ghouls," by Justin Burning, featuring a painted cover of a bunch of Halloween ghouls by Joe Keinberger.
It's a #BandcampFriday, which means all revenue from sales goes directly to the artists. If you're itching for Halloween, I've still got very limited vinyl copies of my seasonal album "Gathering of October Ghouls" available. jburning.bandcamp.com/album/gather...

Turns out lawlessness is not a winning strategy. See you at Nuremberg 2.0
One of my favorite things in cinema is that Bob Clark directed both the best Christmas horror movie and the best traditional Christmas movie.
I definitely have respect for that approach, and I almost did the same.
Awesome. Now Kristi Noem can begin the shit spiral that has befallen literally everyone in Trump's orbit that tried to kiss his ass and he eventually got bored of.
Kudos on the unique diversity (esp. Messiah of Evil and Cemetery Man). I wish my list weren't so full of obvious classics, but alas ...

How did this absolute raging dumbass dipshit get so many young men to worship him? This sounds like parody.
The best part about writing a book is planning and researching. The worst part about writing a book is writing the book.

Trying to get back on my shit to work on my book documenting the indie horror comic boom of the 80s/90s. We'll see how that goes.
And they're pretty awful on there, too
Itβs not good, but itβs good! Englund is having a lot of fun. Itβs so, so ludicrous in a way very few movies are and thatβs a great thing.
Fuck 2026 so hard.

Now I've moved onto THE BEAST WITHIN (1982). The opening scene is hard to watch, it's slow for a while, and the cicada business isn't explored much, but there are some gross effects and Southern Gothic vibes. Plus, everyone sits around and watches a kid transform into a bug for like 18 minutes.
