2000: π‘ Early experiments, a few dozen shows
2005: π Apple adds podcasts to iTunes (~5K shows)
2010: π± Steady growth (~85K shows)
2015: π₯ The boom (~200K shows)
2024: π 5M+ pods, ~1M active
Finally did some performance work for @fireside.fm.
* added marginalia to track down some queries
* reduced the # of queries (zapped some n+1, etc.)
* removed use of lower function in queries so pg would use indexes
The results were great! Another drop off graph for my folder named "dexter". ππ
