i partially agree despite really enjoying the game right now, don’t know if they meant it but the game’s story heavily leans on that theme of loops like life & death. either way not that it is communicated super well in this trailer, if it was even the point

I’ve been in game dev for 26 years and I can’t remember any other time where a specific tech was being insistently and persistently pushed on devs as a group in the public sphere.
Why would it? Cui bono? Why would any given dev have an interest in other devs using tech they don’t have a stake in?
The buildup is the fun part, even if the conclusion turns out to be just "okay".
Bummed that this is an unpopular opinion, I think my favorite shows (or the ones with the fondest memories of all time are nearly all considered slow burns or at least just very very long

Concept art, ideating, temp and placeholder art is where the magic happens. It's also a place for more junior folks on a team to contribute work and get better at it. There is no GenAI replacement for that experience and collaboration. It's going to hurt the team and project in the long term.
