Timone the green sea turtle has been a resident of our marina for almost five years now.

Timone suffered a boat strike as a baby and her spinal injury causes buoyancy issues but she has maintained a healthy weight and blood chemistry in the wild so she will be a good release candidate.

TiMone makes her way back into the water. She won’t touch sand again until she is ready to lay eggs, as a 10 year old she will have a few decades long wait.

TiMone is home! After a short stay at the marathon turtle hospital for being cold stunned she was returned to the Founder’s Park beach.

Said goodbye to Timone today. She wasn’t doing well in the cold water so the good people from the turtle hospital came and picked her up. She has been in the marina with us for five years. We will miss her nightly sunset appearances and look forward to her return!

Tough couple of days on the islands. The shallow waters of Florida Bay were no match for the frigid temps. The threshold temp for most local fish is about 57degrees and our waters are very near that temp now. Fish are dead, manatees, and sea turtles are struggling.
