There's may even be a fourth story coming, which would match last year's March total. I don't think the rest of the year will keep up the pace, though. Last year was an anomaly.

And there's a third story this month! Out today at Phano, "The Secret Procession" is about what popes get up to under the streets of Vienna.

My second story this month is in @foofarawpress.bsky.social's March Mindlessly Massive issue. It's called "Escape Algorithm"...

My latest story is out today in Trollbreath. Cats in space! (sort of).
Lots of good stuff in this issue. Plus, it's cool that each issue starts things off with an interview of the artist - in this case, Aimee Cozza.
As the Nebula nomination deadline approaches, I hope that you'll keep in mind my 2025 novelette "Cupernicity" in @thefuturefire.bsky.social, which I'm very proud of. Please consider including it in your nominations.

From 'Lay-by-rinth' a story thar appeared in 'HOPE: This Thing With Feathers' in 2025, an @metaphorosis.com anthology.
Possibly the only proper love story I've done :)
I'm formally putting out my shingle as a freelance editor. See edits.metaphorosis.com for info and rates.
It's been a rough year personally (and brutal this week), but good on the writing front. I'm glad to close it out with something positive: a review of my last collection of stories.
HAUNTING, HEARTFELT, AND IMAGINATIVE.

Why we loved this story: "1B" by B. Morris Allen is a touching love story. It's lovely that so much can be communicated without meeting face to face.

A careful, thoughtful, PUBLIC process for developing rural changes would be more transparent and durable.
Well, I'm in favor of the latest change in #SFWA's #Nebula rules, I'm concerned that the sudden change suggests a failed process the first time around.
We want the rules to reflect community input and avoid knee-jerk, reactionary changes.
A careful, thorough, PUBLIC process for developing these rules would be much more effective and durable.
I would hope that any changes of this nature go through a careful, thoughtful process. We want policies to reflect the views of the community, but should avoid knee-jerk, reactionary changes.
The frustrating thing about US cars is that there are many brands (like #Subaru and #Hyundai) that use synthetics for their seats, but insist on animal leather for the steering wheel cover. So close! (But they still lost the sale to me.)
He had his hopes up high.

Now that it's _officially_ Nebula nominating time...
I didn't read a lot of #TomStoppard, but I did read Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead in high school, and it was incredibly funny. I went back to it several times (and much later saw the film) and always loved it.

Or, nominate something by another author - maybe one who's even less comfortable with self-promotion than I am. But please do nominate work you liked.

As the year moves toward its end, and best of the year and awards consideration time moves closer, I'd like to ask that you consider my novelette "Cupernicity", published in February in The Future Fire for your nomination needs.

I also don't want to hear either side ever say anything about 'fake news', personal insults, nor how big or small any crowd was. Who gives a damn? For once, let's focus on policy based on facts supported by data and logic. That still leaves a _lot_ of room for policy differences.
Whoever runs for US president, from whatever party, I want their platform to be:
- Rebuild a bureaucracy of non-partisan career officials
- Start to rebuild trust in government
- Prosecution decisions made by career officials on objective criteria. Neither 'look forward' nor 'prosecute my enemies'
Happily, the lesson for me was to assume Social Security would not be there for me, as it seems it may not be. But not everyone's path in life made that possible. We still have a few years if we're just smart enough to _act_. Little sign of that intelligence or courage so far.
My entire life, I've heard that #SocialSecurity will run out exactly when I come eligible.* And we still haven't fixed it. It's amazing our political system could ignore such a big problem for so long.
*I recognize that it's much more nuanced than this.
